AT&T Windows Phone 7 handsets now just 1¢ from Amazon

In keeping with its custom of issuing competitively priced promotions — and to help celebrate the launch of the new Amazon Kindle app for Windows Phone 7 devices — AmazonWireless has dropped the prices on three great smartphones from AT&T. The Samsung Focus, LG Quantum and HTC Surround are now each just 1¢ on contract from the discount retailer. Each of these devices represents a fantastic modern option for smartphone customers looking to make a move with AT&T. This is a limited time promotion that only runs through January 17th, though, so interested parties have just under two weeks to take the plunge.

Can’t even give them away… They’re 2 model cycles and a couple major OS revisions away from becoming somewhat relevant…

I guess this means Windows Phones 7 is about to explode now since 3rd party companies are offerings phones for a penny and their 100 plus phones will be offered on various US carriers this year (not just at&t and tmobile)….you know, this is how Android exploded so if Windows Phone 7 follows the same business model, then they will get the same success as Android. This is the only way Google and Microsoft can compete with Apple, you know offer many phones on various different carriers for dirt cheap because people just buy phones because they are cheap and not because they actually like the OS they are using (insert sarcasm)…

It seems you have to be a new customer to get the surround for $0.01. Existing customers get it for 49.99.
