Apple freezes retail employee vacations, possibly for Verizon iPhone launch

mobile

A new report claims Apple has informed its retail employees of a vacation “blackout” that will begin later this month. Citing unnamed people familiar with Apple’s retail plans, the report states that Apple is preventing all retail employees without seniority from taking vacation during a three-week period that will commence some time during the last week in January. The report also claims that Apple has retained excess staff hired during the holiday season. While unconfirmed, a vacation freeze of this kind coupled with increased retail staff would likely point to a major product launch, and the timing fits perfectly with rumors that the Verizon iPhone will launch some time between now and mid-February.

Or they kept everyone on and froze vacations because they are busy and sales are up :)

Ill only believe VZW iPhone news when uncle steve comes onto stage and announces and sounds very passionate about it and makes me feel like I should run out and get one right away.

Nice “reporting” BGR. I saw someone post in a thread on AppleInsider that they had a friend/brother that worked at Apple and they had vacations frozen and then I switch over here about 30 minutes later and this “story” is posted.

Evidently, a post in the comments section on AI counts as a “report”. LOL

    Dear BGR,

For all the hype you put on a Verizon iPhone this past year if it doesn’t drop this month, you can’t post about it until there is an official announcement from Apple or Verizon. End the rumor mill is nausiating white noise and a cheap way of pulling ratings to your site. After 2 years its a dead horse.

I don’t know about all of you… but I’ve been waiting for this for years! While the iPhone may not be “the god of all phones” anymore, I still find a Verizon launch very exciting!
