Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc revealed ahead of announcement [video]

CES

Ahead of an official announcement due today at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, a new Android phone from Sony Ericsson has been revealed. Affectionately referred to at BGR HQ as the “Sony Ericsson Why-Isn’t-This-The-Xperia Play,” the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc features a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 4.2-inch 854 x 480-pixel touchscreen display, an 8-megapixel camera with flash and HD video capture, the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS and a slim contoured body measuring 8.7mm at its thinnest point. We’re not sure the remarkably slender case and sexy design is enough to make up for last year’s specs, but there should be a few more treats in store from Sony Ericsson today so keep those fingers crossed. Hit the break for a video of the Arc in action.

SONY Has ALOT of ass kissing to make up to the Android Community after that 1.6 Debacle last year…. This is looking really good so far… especially if it will actually LAUNCH with Gingerbread

Phone looks good. Awesome hardware choice is the greatest part of Android. And those widgets look good too (hope there’s play/rwd/ffd in notification bar!). Don’t disappoint Sony!

Looks like a classy phone but the X10′s update debacle, the custom UI Sony put on the phone would concern me update wise.

No dedicated search button = FAIL. I use the search button all the time, does no one at SE not really use an Android phone?

Nice, funky shape. Looks promising, I’m kind of glad it’s not a 12MP camera considering the 1 LED. Go SE!!!!
