RIM shows off Flash, HTML5 video capabilities of BlackBerry PlayBook in latest video

Tablets

Anxiously awaiting RIM’s BlackBerry PlayBook? Research In Motion’s very own Inside BlackBerry blog has posted a three minute video showcasing the unreleased tablets HTML5 and Flash video prowess. The walkthrough demos several games, videos, and popular websites that all use the aforementioned technologies. We were hoping to get a little more concrete information about the PlayBook from RIM this week at CES, although the prospects aren’t looking all that great. Hit the jump to see the video and let us know what you think.

A simplistic device for the blackberry moronic masses. How’s that battery life? 7″ screen? Phones are approaching that size now. Anyone have any real time with it? No? Didn’t think so.

Moronic defense from the Apple Masses, you’d have to be an idiot to think this is Vapourware, BGR had its own hands on. Battery life will be up to BB standards, and how is this devices any more or less simplistic than any other tablet. The Playbook can do a helluva lot more than the iTampon

I am one who likes the Playbook AND the Ipad2. But I rarely come to this site any longer due to the obvious bias from BGR. To the editors here, Apple is everything and RIMM is junk.
I’ll get my info elsewhere. This site is not the place to get objective reviews.

actually our guys here are Goofans (aka Apple Haters). Just sayin’!

i would have to agree with you Jeff, this is not the place to get objective reviews, clearly this is a bias site, i think i will get my info elsewhere too. this site used to be good, those days are long gone.

PST here’s a little inside info… Come closer. STOP BEING A MEDIA LEMMING AND JUST REPETING . Battery life sucks but its in pre beta retard! Let’s pick apart something that’s not complete. Man what is the intelligence level here

    Dear RIM,
Adopt all this sweetness to a blackberry handheld asap please..
    Thank you.

    • QNX Please

They already said this is the OS of future RIM phones, they just need processing power to catch up. With Dual Core’s coming out now, expect QNX based phones sometime this summer.

The playbook looks good. I have an iPhone 4 and a MacBook pro. Didn’t buy an iPad just because of the lack of flash. I am not a fanboy. If the playbook turns out to be better, I’ll buy it over the iPad 2 (or whatever they’ll call it.

Is HTML5 and Flash what make this a “business” tablet?

still will NOT even come close to the sales of the ipad.

Second dumbest comment I’ve ever read.

And you know this how? Ahh just a guess all it could be.

NOTE TO RIM: How about you actually release the product instead of all these infomercials??? Enough demonstrations already. There will be so many tablets released this summer you may have already missed a grand opportunity. Hey, better yet, why not release the Blackberry Playpod (iPod). I’m sure no one else has thought of a MP3 player.

Funny all Courier videos were concept only. It was never with a REAL device. I don’t think after CES all the people playing chicken little angle will have much to stand on. Either you accept the device will be a valid option and offer hardware and functionality better then on the market currently or you just outright dislike RIM, which is fine but lets call a biased opinion such and move on.

Did anyone really think Apple would be the only one in an emerging market? Unless you own Apple stock or work for them, as a consumer who doesn’t want choice and options??

Did RIM release or independant review come of the battery life? Can you accept some people don’t give a flying Fk about 10hr battery life – the iPAD is limited in functionality!! What is a “device opimized experience”??? The fact it has the same UI as iPhone, which is playskool basic? The fact it syncs with god awful iTunes?

Apple has executed one thing very nicely. Marketing and a very streamlined / easy means to purchase – download content.

Would you be happy with one TV brand and model at Best Buy? Maybe if it was an Apple one and all content required your credit card ….
