Got a thing for 4G devices with full-QWERTY keyboards? Samsung’s Epic 4G not your cup of tea? Listen up. The HTC EVO Shift 4G handset, which is destined to make waves with wireless provider Sprint, has surfaced in a RadioShack advertisement. The device is priced at $449.99 at full retail and $149.99 for those upgrading or opening a new line. The Consumer Electronics Show begins next week, hopefully this 3.6-inch slider gets its official reveal then.

Horrible naming. Drop the “4G” and the “EVO”. It just sounds stupid.

Why are they saying it’s a “with Google” phone, but showing the HTC Sense software?

Perhaps because it’s just an ad and representations in ads are known to be inaccurate from time to time.

I was hoping they would keep HTC Knight, EVO Shift is kind of confusing. I can just pictureone of those people at the store: “I want the EVO!!”…..”Wait, thats not the EVO!”……”I WANT THE ONE WITH THE KEYBOARD, YOU GUYS DON’T KNOW ANYTHING! I HATE SPRINT!”

Not really…..when the HTC Touch was released…nobody got confused when the Touch Pro came out soon after.

I really doubt people like us, (people that are tech savy) would ever be confused by this. I mean the people that are not into technology, I usually picture someones mom or dad or computer illiterates. Or just the mom that got sent to the store by their kid…..”My son wants an EVO from Android, whatever that is”…. Know what I mean?

I think Sprint wants “EVO” to be their “DROID.”

Too bad about the screen size. I enjoy the extra size and screen space with larger devices like the Evo and Epic.

Hope it doesn’t suck like the evo does.

Shift to a battery that last, shift to a smooth OS,shift back to 3G until LTE,”4G” is a joke. Sprint shift back to the truth in your lying comercials about beating iPhone 4!

    Scoreboard:
    SPRINT – 3 4G Handsets
    VZW – 0 4G Handsets
    TMOB 0 4G Handsets (3G HSPA+ doesn’t count)
    ATT – 0 4G Handsets

    SPRINT – 71 4G Markets
    VZW – 38 4G Markets
    TMOB – 0 4G Markets (3G HSPA+ doesn’t count)
    ATT – 0 4G Markets

I guess I am gonna have to go with the clear leader in the 4G space on this one.

Something tells me that the EVO Shift is merely a Distraction from something else Sprint has in Store to release the first half of the year.
