Softbank releasing NFC mobile payment stickers for iPhone 4

Business

With near field communication technology shaping up to be the number one new feature on handsets and mobile devices starting next year, a Japanese carrier is already planning on releasing limited NFC functionality to the iPhone 4. Softbank is set to debut a NFC sticker or “seal” which will cover almost the entire rear of the device without preventing the use of Apple’s Bumper cases. While the NFC sticker doesn’t appear to interact with the iPhone in any way, it will reportedly allow iPhone 4 users in Japan to interact with some of the most common mobile payment solutions. The NFC sticker is made of polyurethane, is 0.5 ounces in weight, and should be available for $36 starting in February from Softbank in Japan.

Why on the iPhone 4? Based on very credible research by the Goofan (aka Apple Hater) nation the iPhone 4 doesn’t work! It’s NOT a phone or even close to a smartphone. I don’t understand these companies releasing stuff for the iPhone platform when there are billions of Android phones selling every day. AND Android is TOTALLY open vs. Apple which doesn’t allow ANYTHING to happen in their platform without Steve Jobs’ SPECIFIC instructions.

Can you imagine the amount of different form factors they will have to produce for all the different models of Android phones?? Im sure it is much easier to create just one for the most popular phone on the planet… the beloved Iphone.

Your comment is a FAIL and so are you! bye bye!

Are you kidding??? Have you been keeping a tally? Last I looked Android 1,000,000,000 apple 50,000,000 (if you believe Apple and all the media outlets they buy to make up numbers, I think they have sold about 20!)! And we are NOT EVEN in the 2nd Quarter.

You missed the whole point of my comment! While it takes several different models of Android phones to make up the 1,000,000,000 it is only one iphone that makes up the 50,000,000. That company would have to create several different form factors for all the many different Android phones which makes no sense when you can create just one for the most popular phone of all!

DroidTards always seem to blur the lines between the OS and actual hardware… I know that all together Android phones seem to outnumber but if you pick just one android phone against one iphone the count dips dramatically!

Apparently you’ve missed the gist of my comment! All the Android devices make up the 1,000,000,000 number but there is no single android phone that makes up the 50 like the iPhone. Why should the company go thru making 80 or more different form factors when they need only one for the most popular device??

        Goofan,

Don’t listen to these iClowns. They are just in a deep depression caused by the reality that the iphone is junk that is not selling and in reality is failing…badly. I’ll take 1,000,000,000 DROIDS with various and some times nonfunctional OS versions over one stable iCrap any day. DROID DOES BABY!!!

I’m sorry everyone. I am an apple fanboy trolling this site, wasting everyones time. I love apple and everything that they do. I despise competition therefore I despise Android. My New Years resolution is to end it all. Good bye everyone. I will no longer be a waste to humanity. And iKing, I am sorry you took my ridiculous bait.

Here we go…some kid who is upset that DROID is so successful and trying to make Goofan look like a jealous Apple fanboy. You crApple iClowns will never get it. We can see right through you. No one is seriously an Apple fan on this site.

You could NEVER EVER sound like the real ME. You are nowhere near as sophisticated as I am. Norm, thanks for keeping tabs on little iTurds like Fake Goofan (aka Apple Hater) here.
