AT&T cuts iPhone 4 refurb prices, now $99 with activation

mobile

Didn’t get that iPhone 4 you were so hoping to receive for Christmas? AT&T Wireless is offering up some new pricing on refurbished iPhone 4 units, and it is pretty spectacular. AT&T has cut $50 off the price of the iPhone 4, making the total price with new two year activation just $99 for a 16GB unit. If you’re alright with taking one with a “cosmetic blemish,” you’ll be able to snag one for just $79. Again, these are refurbished units (usually returned or exchanged items that have been quality tested and then reboxed), but if you have been waiting for the right time to hop on the iPhone train, this is one of the best offers we have seen. Here is all the new pricing from AT&T:

  • iPhone 4 16GB — $99
  • iPhone 4 32GB — $199
  • iPhone 4 16GB with cosmetic blemish — $79
  • iPhone 4 32GB with cosmetic blemish — $179

Let us know if you pick one up, alright?

I’m still waiting on either the iPhone 4 and/or waiting for iPhone 5 next year…

  • Youtoodumb

    It’s not “AT&T Wireless”. It’s AT&T Mobility.

    • justin

      Who cares

    • NoFoam

It is AT&T Wireless around here.

    GayPhone sucks balls

    • Norm

Totally agree! Now get back to work, we have DROIDs to sell today.

    • Lorenzoo90

      Agree… It sux Meatballs

Not bad, but it all depends where you live though.

  • Norm

This is more proof of the impending VZW iphone release. While I am a DROID fanatic, I am willing to concede that the iphone will do great at VZW. Why? Every phone does great on VZW. DROID DOES on VZW just fine while the iphone will do cater to the 75% of people on VZW who don’t want DROID. I can live with that.

    • http://twitter.com/bradleyjp Bradley

No it’s not. They do this every year with the model that is going to be replaced in June. I picked up an iPhone 3G this way for 99 bucks a few years ago. It means nothing other than at&t is already starting to move stock.

      • Anonymous

This alone may not prove that Verizon is getting the iPhone. But I think his point was that this plus everything else that has happened as far as proof pretty much points to a Verizon iPhone.

      • Norm

        ding ding ding

      • NoFoam

There has been NO proof, only speculation. Calling it proof doesn’t make it so.

    • serpentor

iPhone’s reception problems was always on the hardware side. Unless Apple changes things (and they still haven’t even after 4 revisions) the VZW will get a bad rap just like AT&T has.

      • Michael Scrip

And then there are those people who have never had any reception problems.

Maybe the problem really is AT&T. You don’t hear people complaining in other countries… and the iPhone is on 5 different carriers in some countries.

I’ll still take my chances with a Verizon iPhone.

      • Norm

People in the US don’t know that the iphone is on several carriers in most countries…and they don’t need to. The thing to remember here is that DROID DOES.

      • NoFoam

Unfortunately, AT&T is the only major US carrier that can utilize the iPhone to it’s full potential. I don’t see Verizon building a GSM network anytime soon, with LTE happening right now.

      • Michael Scrip

People say Android phones are the greatest thing since sliced bread…

There are millions of Android phones on Verizon…

What are they missing out on?

        Discuss…

      • NoFoam

Missing out on? Verizon customers are missing out on Data speed. I get 5 Mb/s download, 1.46Mb/s upload, with my iPhone 4 on AT&T. Verizon customers are missing out on a smartphone that hasn’t been crippled with mandatory software, such as V-Z Navigator or the V-Cast Musicstore. Software that requires that you void your terms of use agreement and root your phone just to remove the offending apps. Verizon refuses to allow you to Skype over Wi-Fi. In fact Skype requires Wi-Fi to shut down before you can use the Skype app. That’s okay, maybe Verizon customers just like very thinly sliced slices of bleached white bread.

      • Norm

        serpentor,

Great talking points. I actually used those today when a couple of customers who did not want DROIDs due to poor battery life and inconsistent OS issues. I quickly pointed them to our map, in all of its glory. They still left for the iphone, but I at least warned them they were leaving the great map of them all.

This is great. Now when I buy something else I will have a less expensive device to ignore.

  • Tech_User

guess ATT wants to get rid off its stock………iphone on verizon is coming

    • NoFoam

AT&T will still be selling the iPhone.

  • Anonymous

I’d hold off on this. Apple usually cuts prices (and lets other do so as well) when they’re clearing out stock for a new model. Combine this, the Radio Shack sale and the rumor of a Verizon iPhone I think the iPhone 4 is on its way out sooner rather than later.

  • Petey

I hope the iphone doesn’t just go to Verizon, but hope it’s available in all carrier if they want to dominant the market. I’m pretty sure they would get more sells and their products would be more popular than it is now.

  • Richard Neva

I don’t want the simple ass phone I have, useless pieces of junk that are obsolete the day they are sold to the rube on the street. Save your money for food, the end is coming to capitalism thank god!

  • Beddaman

Sounds like a scared tactic to get what customers they can b4 big red take over.

  • http://twitter.com/xEcho64x William Clancy

does anyone know if the “cosmetic blemish” iphone 4 are new devices that just have imperfections, or are they refurbished devices that also have imperfections?

for me, i dont care if the phone has some sort of imperfection as long as it works perfectly and, i was gonna get the iphone 4 anyway, so id like to get the 32gb one for less than i was originally gonna spend.

  • Goofan (aka Apple Hater)

More proof the iPhone isn’t selling. Now they have to give them away at $99! Or at $79! Andorid DOESN’T have to reduce the cost of the phones to sell them. They sell by themselves. If the iPhones were selling AT ALL, they would be charging twice the SRP! Apple is doomed. Although when that happens us Goofans (aka Apple Haters) won’t have much of a life left. Still, they’ll rue the day!!!!!

    • Norm

Took the words right out of my mouth Goofan! DROID may be for sale on Amazon, wirefly, Bestbuy, and various resellers for pennies, but it still DOES better than the iphone. The iphone is clearly a failure as they are having to reduce the price of refurbs aka the billions of iphone worldwide that have been returned due to being completely unuseable. You can’t even root them or install custom ROMS?! 99.9% of DROID users root their DROIDS and its just a way of life. I feel bad for anyone who doesn’t have to constantly change their phone’s OS with some kids new custom ROM with special vibrant widgets and super colour schemes.

      • Goofan (aka Apple Hater)

Abso-freaking-lutely! Where’s the fun in NOT being able to root! I love rooting the root on my Droid(s)! It’s freaking awesome and it should be a God given right!

    • http://twitter.com/xEcho64x William Clancy

You say: “Android is dominating, Apple is doomed”, I hear: “I have no idea what profit is, nor how it relates to business

      You clearly:

      1) Do not understand that all companies Apple or not, offer deals like this to get rid of damaged or unused stock, and the fact that you say that Android “DOESN’T have to reduce the cost…” Shows that your not even knowledgeable on the Verizon side. Take a look at the offers they are giving, most of them are being given away for free or at little cost. My friend just bought a Droid Incredible, one of Android’s flagship devices: FREE with her contract. Those devices that are not free, will be in 2 months when they become obsolete and dropped from Android support. Don’t believe me? see if your shinny new android phone will be getting the new update anytime soon, let alone future updates like 3.0.

      2) Apple is KILLING Android as far as profit, if you look at the company over the last few years, the stock has tripled and the stores cant get inventory fast enough to meet demand. Android is destroyed by the fact that they are divided by multiple manufacturers which have to cut costs and put out inferior devices to meet with competition. In that regard, Android will never, EVER, be able to compete with Apple whos prices are relatively static throughout the year.

I really hope your happy with your trailing, second rate, android device. I think they’re great and all, but they are merely IMITATIONS, copies, attempts at making a cheap stab at Apple’s careful crafted and popular products. You apple haters have no basis on your claims except for the fact that you cannot have one (likely because you, for some stupid reason, think that Verizon is a quality provider, with its CDMA bloated network). If you tried the device for 1 day you’d realize just how intuitive it really is, and how far above and beyond it goes. Do you ever, EVER see an android device put out a feature before Apple? have you actually used one? The touchscreen is a perfect example of this, even the first generation iPhone 2G has a better screen then the latest Android device. The cost to create dozens of devices is too great to focus on any semblance of quality.

So please do some research before opening your ignorant fat mouth, you obviously like many other Apple haters, have no idea what your talking about.

Hello wanted to know that if someone residing in the US can buy a iPhone and the send it to me…so the question is that is there some sort of installation per month or what..i dont know the American system please explain if that person pays the price of the iPhone 4 so is it one time or do we have to pay monthly…thanks

    • NoFoam

Nope, if you want a carrier unlocked iPhone you have to pay full retail price, otherwise sign a service contract.

    • Jsmith

eBay you can find them. No contracts.

  • http://www.sisteme-bis.ro Supraveghere Video

Still to expensive for what it’s worth!

    • Petey

these should be offer for free if they trying to clear their inventory and if AT&T tries to grab as new customer as they can before the deal with apple ends.

      • NoFoam

The iPhone will sell be sold on AT&T.

  • http://www.fierforjatkmc.ro Fier Forjat

Hmm….they cut the prices because they are not selling any. I wonder why xD

    • Jack

yeah like all the hundreds of android devices selling for free or discounted to 50 bucks!

  • Boy Penis

Great, now you can buy all the devices that were returned due to the antenna issues. God knows there’s a surplus of them. Inventory clear out anyone?

    • serpentor

      +1 just for your name.

  • Wild WIlly

Apple is boring these days. Keep paying for the same phone with slightly better features. Gave up my Iphone for an EVO and all I can say is Apple is in trouble.

    • Goofan (aka Apple Hater)

In trouble indeed! They are not selling a single phone nowadays. I expect them to declare bankruptcy by November 2011. We don’t need companies like Apple in the U.S. We need companies like HTC, Acer and Samsung. Asian companies are MUCH better than American companies, with the exception of Google which will RUN THEM ALL!

      • NoFoam

Google runs the world anyway. Just count how many Google apps are available in the iPhone app store. All Google wants in return is your email and personal info, granted, not as much as Android OS powered by Google.

    • Jack

you dumbasses that hate on Apple. Without the iphone, Google couldn’t even have come up with Android in the first place.

  • Anonymous

    Nope, It still sux.

  • Hbernardo22

We need at contrac for buy this
