In a press release today, U.S. wireless carrier Sprint announced Denver, Colorado and Bridgeport, Connecticut as the 69th and 70th markets to be covered by its next-generation WiMAX network. “With Sprint 4G, wireless customers will experience faster mobile downloads, video chat capabilities and turbo-charged Web browsing – all on the first wireless 4G network from a national carrier,” writes Sprint. If you’re located in the Denver or Bridgeport areas, and rocking a Sprint 4G device, let us know what kind of data speeds you’re seeing.

Is Motorola releasing the Motorola DROIDpad on Sprint? No, I didn’t think so either. Only VZW can offer you the fastest 4G experience in the country with biggest 4G map. We have a map for that. Also, the DROIDpad will have an exclusive OS called Honeycomb that no other carrier will offer. DROID!

Funny, an “exclusive OS called Honeycomb that no other carrier will offer?” Haven’t heard that one before… Where do you get your information, Mr. Fanboy? And, for your information, the only 4G map that’s smaller than Verizon’s right now is Metro PCS’s. Verizon has 30-some markets, copared to Sprint’s 70. Do us all a favor; spare us from your erroneous lies and save the space your posts take up for something worth while.

Sprints 4G coverage is horrible. Verizon covers more people in fewer cities.

And apparently you have gone to all 70 markets and tested it? Sprint covers twice the PoPs that Verizon does, and holds a LOT more capacity. Try getting 10+ megs when 3 million people are using Verizon LTE in a few months on only 700 MHz. Oh, and when your 10 megs for $80/month runs up in less than a week, have fun paying for the overages.

Let’s see, Verizon covers fewer people in fewer cities. They have 2 devices as opposed to the 14-15 4G devices that Sprint has and Verizon won’t have any 4G handsets until the middle of next year. All that and they charge more for less? FYI – in Los Angeles, where I have my 4G desktop modem in my house, consistent 9 Mbps down and 2 Mbps up. My Epic works brilliantly and my wife’s EVO is flawless too.

Tmobile doesnt have 4G. So they don’t even have a map.

No one in their right mind lives in Bridgeport unless they have no money. Have you ever been there?

      In other news…

“Skid Row receives WiMAX update, 4G for no one.”

    • VZW

Then that is a good place for sprint.

so lemme guess if you post 1,000 negative blog comments then your extra $20-50 a month wont be such a big waste? Funny thing is I can, and have had to about 3 times, force my phone to use VZW towers exclusively. The Desert Springs Marriott has abysmal VZW coverage which is sadly better than the other carriers.

      • VZW

I pay less then what Sprint customers do. 139.99 first 2 lines, 3 more lines so 60.00 (19.99 each) them all add lines are 9.99 because they each get the smartphone talk free promotion. So take away 40.00. 159.99 + discount is 143.– for 5 lines unlimited data and text.1400 mins. 10 free calling to landlines (90 million people have Verizon so mostly everyone we talk to is Verizon.).

@ VZW The VZW website begs to differ.. And I know your way to smart to compare standard Sprint plans with a discounted VZW plan, if anyone wants to dig up all of the discounts on Sprint they are only a google search away..

Got 10Mbps on my WiFi network with no one else on it.. AMAZING.

Wait until people start using the network. These initial tests are worthless but keep getting posted anyway.

Yep, that’s what I’m telling all the Verizon lovers.

I’m getting 6mbps+ in NYC, and I’m sure a lot of people are using it.

Oh no, my phone won’t work anymore when it drops down to 5mbps like L.A. and Vegas…

Getting consistent download speeds of 8-9 MBPS in DC, and the DC suburbs of Silver Spring. Works for me. Excellent job Sprint. Best value in the business.

  • drew dogg

All that and sprint still trying to figure how to get lte.

You mean the LTE that they tested at 90mbps or the LTE that took an extra year to get ready.. The differences betwenn LTE and WiMax are minute.. The main thing here is using OFDM and having a low frequency spectrum and/ or a large amount of spectrum.

WiMAX in Denver? Where? All I get is 3G. Sometimes there is a 4G symbol on my phone, but no signal.
