Motorola teases a CES tablet announcement with tantalizing new hype video

Tablets

CES is just around the corner, and companies are starting to throw some chum in the proverbial waters. In a one-minute thirty-second spot that recounts the history of tablets — starting with an Egyptian, stone hieroglyphic-slate — Motorola has teased that its much anticipated tablet is set for an official outing at CES. Judging by the clues in the video — shots taken at Android 2.2′s tablet prowess and the presence of a honey bee — we can assume that we’re looking at a full-touchscreen tablet device running Android’s Honeycomb (Android 3.0) operating system. Perhaps we’ll get a full look at the 10-inch tablet Mr. Rubin was touting around at the Dive Into Mobile conference? We can’t be sure what Motorola has in store for us, but we can’t wait! The video is after the break. Enjoy!

I am stoked to get one of these.
On screen buttons that stay bottom left no matter how you orient the device, ability to fragment apps into little windows on the homescreen, usb drive support…

Batteries that last for months. The ability to run upwards of 1,000 apps simultaneously. Etc. Etc. Etc. The ability to print or upload data by just thinking about it. Etc. Etc. Etc. Thanks Walt! I am excited.

Cracks me up. So Apple gets knocked because iPad is “like a giant iPhone” huh? That is a complete joke seeing as the iPhone is most successful wireless device in the history of mankind. All of these manufacturers wish they had a problem like that. But the truth is, they don’t because they don’t innovate the best products. They think adopted technology will make them slick and relevant again.

Shame really, as Moto used to innovate on design. If 5 years ago someone said “yeah, but it’s like a giant RZR phone” they would have asked what is wrong with that?

Moto has some real balls calling out the king. My bet is it won’t sell 15% what iPad sells over its lifetime.

Cracks me up that you’re berating a product that you haven’t even held in your hands. Maybe Moto is onto something different.

    iPad- A giant iPhone/iPod Touch

CES is always full of garbage, LMAO. Won’t be surprise if CES gets no attention like every year. All eyes are always at Apple around that time even if apple says nothing.

Okay folks, all kidding aside. None of this Tablet news matters. Not the iPad, Playbook, Motorola’s thing, Acer’s thing and whatever else. It doesn’t matter (especially from the iPad POV) because within the next month or so we will have confirmation of the iPad2.

So, in twelve months we can have an argument about what upcoming Tablets in 2012 will be better than the iPad2 that was announced in January of 2011.

I was beginning to think you were Jarret, with your long-winded posts, constant whining about Google products coming out in Beta, and never ceasing to point out the failure of Wave.

Jarret never had to curse to get attention though…..

I don’t mind a company explaining a new tech piece. What went over the line was the portrayal of the Ten Comandments that was very unnecessary, this is just blasphemy; what it stands for, there is fine line between religion / technology.
Motorola think twice about what you differentiate.

Oh, stop acting like a muslim watching south park. Get a sense of humor, because that was pretty funny.

I apologize for my statement I wasen’t demanding. Personally I like what Motorola stands for, it was just taken out of context-
        (“can’t edit”), matter of fact I don’t even watch (SP) or practice Muslim;
        I enjoy Sci-fi and am a Methodist.
(I don’t want any tension, to make you angry; that wasen’t my intensions this night.) I wish Motorola great strides in there endeavor toward this tablet market.

    Great teaser video!

if only motorola didn’t bundle my phone with a ton of irremovable bloatware I would be interested in this, but until i can remove blockbuster app without rooting then I will not be purchasing another motorola product.

  • Balls69

Yeah, wait until it’s a bigger version of a Droid X. Motorola is garbage and always has been. They make all of their money off of gimmicks and closed market competition (razr, sidekick, Droid (because iPhone wasn’t at Verizon) but none of their products ever promised quality.

I can’t wait until HTC comes out with a true tablet, hopefully Linux based or Windows 7 Premium…none of this android BS. Or even an iPad running OSX would suffice :-D
