Confirmed: Verizon Wireless to debut LTE Android handsets at CES

Hardware

Waiting on pins and needles for the first (of many) LTE-powered Android handsets on Verizon? Verizon Wireless just posted the following tweet from their Twitter account:

Jan. 6 at #CES: #Android and #LTE – could it be like peanut butter and chocolate? YUM!

There’s been no doubt Verizon will introduce a number of LTE-capable Android handsets at CES this year, starting with Ivan Seidenberg’s keynote, but Verizon has now made the news official.

I’m missing the part where they say it’s for a cellphone. Doesn’t an android powered tablet make more sense? I thought they weren’t rolling out LTE phones until a little later, after the netbooks and tablets.

Says nothing about phones here. Could just be the Moto tablet, although I’m sure photos will be there.

why do people care so much about the iphone, with android and so many of the custom roms and user interfaces or skins that are being put on these phones, iphone is kinda old news i think, and LTE with android and at some point windows phones are gonna kick ass.

I don’t understand why people complain when a company is giving more and more amazing options for devices. If you don’t want it, don’t get it. If you think its too much, don’t buy it. Its not for everyone, but it is for those that are willing. If you find a reason for purchasing such a device then so be it…… Yes , I do work for vzw as a rep and as a customer as well. I love the fact that’s we do have the best smartphone lineup. That’s what its all about, we give options. Now you could choose from multiple great devices without compromise and people still complain.maybe we should go back to when we only had blackberrys and other junk huh……now all of a sudden people are jumping into conclusions about lte phone pricing. Want that the case with our lte cards too. Everyone thought they were going to be 100 dllrs more a month and some rediculous pricing but it turned out to be the same. Maybe people should just learn to stop jumping into conclusions about pricing and who could afford it or not. ……. Like I said its about options. don’t want it, don’t get it. Don’t find a need for it, don’t get it.are willing to pay for what yoy get, get it. Its a service your paying for not so much the device. The ability to do everything you couldn’t 5 years ago while on the go, all in the palm of your hand…
