mobile

If you’re in the UK and are feverishly awaiting Google’s Nexus S device to become available tomorrow, you will pretty pleased to know that the price that SIM free phone will sell for has just been reduced. Carphone Warehouse now shows the Nexus S available for £429.99 as opposed to £549.99 when it first was announced and featured on their website. No official word on why the no contract handset’s price was lowered, but we’ll let you chime in with your own thoughts in the comments.

Got any more info on that one greentea? My wife went into a CPW store the other day enquiring on a release date and the person behind the counter was clueless. :(

No not much… I saw on Engadget that they are back ordered instead of being “in stock”… but they havent even started selling yet so maybe its just manufacturing delays…. or they see a lot of interest so they are being safe and not guaranteeing it to be in stock.

Thanks GT. I guess the wait is on. I was hoping for a release before Christmas.

The focus isn’t revenue its sales. What’s an iPhone 4 to a Nexus S? Only a phone with direct OS video support; that’s all I could think about.

Am I the only one who finds it absolutely ridiculous to charge SIX HUNDRED AND SEVENTY DOLLARS for a phone? Off-contract smartphone prices are ridiculous enough in the states, but all electronics over here are just ludicrously expensive. It’s the #1 thing I hate most about living in the UK.

    Really?

No stories at all yesterday, one recycled story today from another website, and a shitty best of the week post?

Everytime I come here this site gets less interesting.

No official word on why the no contract handset’s price was lowered
Because it was a rip-off maybe?

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that everyone that got to review the phone found it to be Slow and Jittery.
