‘The Daily’ iPad newspaper to launch in January

Rupert Murdoch’s upcoming and highly-intriguing digital and iPad only (for some time) newspaper is set to launch in January, according to Peter Kafka at MediaMemo. While news reports signaled a December launch, it seems the staff working on the digital paper needed some more time to create their iPad app which will reportedly feature “lots of video” and “cool multimedia bells and whistles” which includes a really cool 3D effect that “lots of people are excited about.” The Daily will be a daily iPad newspaper that will make sure of a new push delivery system from Apple — Kindle owners know what we’re talking about here — the digital newspaper will be delivered every morning to your iPad without you having to manually fetch and download it.

    If the FREE Huffington Post is now the second most read ‘newspaper’ on the internet, why should anyone PAY for this ‘newspaper’?
    Nearly every blog, RSS, or website online is updated instantly (as well as repeatedly)–kinda like this century, and Murdoch’s ‘newfangled newspaper’ is finalized the night before–kinda like last century…
    Face it; he’s out of touch.
