    Risk for a buck.
    Well there goes my productivity.

After upgrading to 4.2 and with no real JB available, I actually bought 3 games! Cut the Rope, Angry Birds and Tetris :) $1 isn’t bad at all!

    • Richard

@ Sirpaul, you are dumb. actually their is a jailbreak, just tethered. look up 4.2.1 jailbreak and you will see that one is available.

      • sirpaul

Richard, you are the dumb one. That’s why I said no “real” jailbreak. A jailbreak has been out before 4.2.1 even came out, but what use is a tethered JB??? There is a non-tethered JB as well but it isn’t designed well and could brick your device. How about you do some research before you open your mouth and make yourself look like a moron?

Okay, now I dislike a grammar nazzi more than the next person, but this isn’t grammar. You flat out used the wrong word. ‘Their’ and ‘there’ are two COMPLETELY different words and have a completely different meaning. The latter means in or at a place, while the former is a form of the possessive case of ‘they’. I only bring this up because you called someone that may be less informed dumb. When clearly, you are the dumb one. Why call someone names? Can’t you just inform him?

And this is supposed to be a tech blog? You’re advertising sales for idevice games… that’s actually really sad.

    • Anonymous

shut the F up… All the tech blogs advertise big sales like this… GIZ and Engadget included..

      • Len

You sound mad, did I hurt your feelings? Big sales eh? How much are you saving? like 2 dollars on average? Oh yeah, but seeing as how your mother probably bought your iPhone for you, $2 is probably a big deal to you.

      • Anonymous

lol. 9 to 10 dollars off games. Or didn’t your mother teach you how to read numbers? **goes back to playing my 99c iPad games**

      • Len

The mere fact that you have nothing better to do but play games on a mobile device speaks volumes.
Sorry about the calculation of numbers, I don’t actually have time to read the boring list of games, and BGR confused me by posting apps which aren’t even on sale. Sale as in meaning discount. Why is BGR posting 99 cent apps if they are 99 cent apps to begin with? Advertising much?

All week they’ve posted about Android and Apple apps. If blackberry ever made any they would talk about those too…

      • Len

There’s nothing wrong with posting about apps. That’s like a review which is fine and dandy. That’s on a whole different level as posting an article with the sole purpose of pretty much advertising. If you are writing posts on a tech blog simply to promote something with no objectivity to it, then I’m sorry but it doesn’t belong.

I’ve been on both sides. Upper end games like the ones you get on iPhone just don’t come out on Android for one reason or another. So, because there is little news on that front regarding games that wow the masses, we should put a freeze on news with platforms releasing games that DO wow the masses? That seems extremely stupid. If there is news on sales, it should come out. If there is no notable news, then it should be quiet for THAT topic now shouldn’t it? All tech blogs are the same. Open your eyes. If you don’t like to see ANY inews, may I suggest sipping tea with tiny cups and Teddy Bears away from technology?

EA, just come on over to Android.

    • Anonymous

Yeah, because developers are making boatloads of money on those cheapskates.

      • Brett

There are enough of them coming over that I would guess they are making enough boatloads to be worth it.

      • numetheus

And you know this because? Most of the upper end games will only work on select Android phones. The specs are wildly different. So, while Android is wildly popular, most of the ones sold cheaply are under 1ghz. And even of the 1ghz one, different chipsets have different capabilities. Add to that that statistics show that Andoid users are far less likely to purchase software, and you get a very shaky platform for selling product. I remember statistics being released hat show this. As well, most people I know with Android devices don’t like paying for software. Most people with iPhones buy software very frequently, which is why developers love making iPhone games. It’s all about making money, not making you happy. Also, upper end games will work well on iPhone 4 through 3G. This will be an issue with Android unless they standardize on hardware. Although, I am willing to bet that won’t happen. Android will not be a platform for games because of this.

these are some pretty steep price cuts, $9.99 to just 99 cents, this is actually smart of EA, they know if they lower the prices, people will buy them and they will be in the top 50, and since apple will freeze that after the 23, they will be in the top spot for the holidays
