BlackBerry Desktop Manager 2.0 for Mac now available

Software

Although it has been available in a beta version for the past several weeks, BlackBerry Desktop Manager 2.0 for Mac had yet to be given an official release date by maker Research In Motion… that is, until today. RIM has made version 2.0 of its desktop suite for Mac official. The update brings with it Wi-Fi music syncing, a new device switch wizard, and the ability to import and sync both photos and videos with iPhoto and iTunes. Desktop Manager 2.0 clocks in at just north of 40MB and is available as we type. Hit the read link to download the new goodies.

    [insert Android/Apple/RIM/WebOS/WP7 flame bait]

BB just die already. Your attempts to be relevant is starting to look pitiful. The only people that cling on to you are the ones that refuse to move forward with technology & business suits that still believe a BB is the best way to do mobile business hahahaha

not everyone is a nerd like you. some people want to simply message quickly

iPhone = high tech whoopee cushion with a retina display. King of the fart apps.

        BB = Old and Dead
Android = Nerd Toy, that tries to be a real smartphone, but doesn’t quite make it

So your syaing BB is the only phone out there that can message quickly?

It takes 2 taps to text on any phone made within the last 3 years.

        Tap to open app
        tap on contacts name.

        type away

Thats my point. People are hell bent on making BB the ultimate communication device.
That was a valid point ohh 3-4 years ago. I can start cooking a text within seconds.

Frank lopez (I didn’t capitalize because you didn’t),

Your attempts at relevant posts are starting to look pitiful. The only people who cling onto your dogma are the ones who believe in black and white. We like our BB’s, we like our BBM, and we are glad you have KIK, but we don’t care. Just relax, man. I don’t care about about video chat that is only available over wifi or choppy “4G.” In fact, whatever it is that you think makes your phone/carrier/OS superior to mine, I really don’t care. I like my BB, and so the millions of other BB users…

You’re welcome for paving the way,
      Blackberry Users Everywhere

My point exactly. BB users are already in the “bb is the best communication device for messaging & email” force field. I understand YEARS and millions of dollars were spent to plant this ideology.
But back then THEY WERE THE CHAMPIONS AT IT. But with the current surge of actual innovation
BB holds no merit in the field any more.

Eventually you “loyal” berrry users will decide to test new waters and you will see how great 2010 technology is. BB is palm 2.0. Can they make awesome products? Of course they can. They have the resources and the industry support to do so. But just like thier fan base
who refuse to move ahead they wont.

DATA FACTS released within the last few days show a huge decline in market share. That is saying a lot. And guess what they have yet to prove they have something brewing worth considering. PLAYBOOK? no not even developers are interested on the platform.

The other options are cool, and there are times when I think to myself, “man, I wish my phone would just play this damn Youtube video.” But that’s not very often. For a lot of us BB has it right; it’s not that we refuse to switch over, it’s that we see no need to.

That said, the decline in RIM’s market share was to be expected. At BB’s height they had no real competition. Apple released a great product, but wasn’t ready for the corporate world and AT&T’s network wasn’t ready for all it was capable of, Palm had let itself go, Windows Mobile was unreliable, and Android was still getting itself off the ground. Now there are more viable options and it comes as no surprise that some people are taking them. RIM isn’t failing, others are simply catching up to where they should be in terms of market share.

        Take care.

Why would anyone pair a moronic, low-IQ smartphone(BB) with an Einsteinian genius like a Mac? Is it a Pro-Am situation?

  • Alonzo

I have a Mac and a Blackberry. I’m glad that I have a phone that works versus the worthless Iphone I used to have. At least I have a phone now that can make calls, stays charged all day, doesn’t drop calls, and just plain works.

And is, in point of fact, SO secure that foreign governments are worried about it. Android is so UNsecure that Netflix worries that users’ account info may be compromised, hence no Netflix client for that platform.

Businesses still use BlackBerry because it’s secure, reliable, and offers as yet unrivaled connectivity with the business desktop environment. Now if you want to play games, listen to music, and surf the web, then BlackBerry is not for you. If you want professional grade business communication, there is STILL no substitute.

so the phone in that add looks new. anyone agree?

    • rydog

lied, after actually looking at it, it seems to be a torch
