Images of Motorola’s Verizon-branded 10-inch tablet surface

Tablets

After Andy Rubin, Google’s VP of Engineering, showed off a new Motorola tablet last week, information about the unreleased device has slowly started to bubble to the surface. User wnrussell from Howard Forums was kind enough to post a few images that showcase a Verizon-branded version of the Android 3.0 tablet. The images are — unfortunately – Mr. Blurrycam style, but they do reveal some additional information about the device. The pictures showcase a micro-USB port, mini-HDMI port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and dock contact points. The poster reports that the device will indeed have a 1GHz Tegra 2 processor, gyroscope, 1280 x 800 screen resolution, and 32GB of built in storage with a microSD card slot (with support for 32GB). The device will purportedly bear the name Stingray, Everest, or Trygon. Hit the read link to check out the full array of images.

UPDATE: Post updated to accurately reflect the origin of the images.

Nice! Hopefully available in a wi-fi only version. Itll be bad for sales otherwise with Motorola having Mobile Hotspot feature on their phones but basically saying its worthless because if u buy another of their products u need to have a radio in it along with another data plan.

Ill drop my ipad for this in a heartbeat but not if im forced to pay monthly rent on it for 2 years. Pricing is another issue given this thing seems to have specs as good as mid level laptops & based on Samsungs absurd price of the Tab

Looks interesting i must i do respect moto as they make some quality gear.i may own an iphone and love but i admire their attention to detail.android could do with UI polish but competition is good!

    Hello Moto!
    :)

It looks like a very old prototype picture – Did you see the date? January 23rd…

That is interesting considering that 2009 was the latest year January 23rd fell on a Friday. It is probably possible that Motorolla has had this laying dormant and now they upgraded the gutz to be a competitor in todays market.

I really love the big Verizon logo. It helps let everyone know that im on Verizon and reminds every time I use it my phone or tablet that they are my master.

I just want a release date already! All these recent leaks are killing me.

I personally think a wi-fi only version is a long shot. Verizon is going to market the hell out of this thing as a “ground-breaking 4G device”, so why would Moto spend their own marketing dollars? Then again, Verizon could offer this as a wi-fi only version at significant premium, or essentially a no contract full retail price.

It’ll be interesting to see what info they reveal at CES in a couple weeks, as I expect this to be their “highlight” device. I personally just hope the LTE version ships before mid-March.

I’ll buy the wifi only version.

Trygon sounds too similar to “try again”…
Also doesn’t flow off the tongue and sounds more like an evil robot bent on wreaking havoc on the world.

Company A brings product to market, companies B thru Z take ten months to copy product. It has been this way since 1984 and shows no signs of slowing.

That’s a sweet tablet and lets hope there is a WiFi only version.

On a second note, Moto, get that Olympus out ASAP! CES feels like an eternity and it’s only a few weeks away.

  • Goofan (aka Apple Hater)

More evidence that Apple will be bankrupt by this time next year. It’s obvious they can’t compete with all these PERFECT devices. I haven’t seen ONE useful feature on the iPad (actually NO APPLE product has any value, as far as Goofans (aka Apple Haters) are concerned) that’s worth ANY attention. All of the things that can be done with Android devices! I mean, think about it.

All these comments about WiFi only versions have got me a bit confused. I have an unlimited data plan on my Android phone, so I can use it as a hotspot to still give the tablet net access. There are times when I don’t want keep my phone tethered though, so it would be cool for the tab to have its own net access too.

Then again, this tab won’t be out for a few months, so I’m sure I can figure things out by the time this comes out.
