RadioShack takes $50 off Apple’s iPhone 4 and 3GS

mobile

RadioShack announced a limited-time promotion on Friday that offers a $50 discount on Apple’s iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS. The promotion applies to brand new devices — not refurbished phones — and there are no tricky terms and conditions to be afraid of. Interested parties just need to be eligible for a two-year agreement, and the offer is valid from December 4th through December 11th. Pricing works out like this:

  • iPhone 3GS: $49.99
  • iPhone 4 (16GB): $149.99
  • iPhone 4 (32GB): $249.99

In addition, The Shack has a “Trade & Save” promotion running that allows iPhone 3G and 3GS owners to trade in their devices for a credit of $75 and $125, respectively. This means a 32GB iPhone can can be purchased for $124.99 when trading in a 3GS, and the 16GB iPhone 4 can be had for as little as $24.99. Eligible trade-ins must be in working condition and cannot be unlocked.

Not bad. But not enough to get me to stay with iPhone. Screw you Apple and your shoddy antenna. I’m going to be rock’n me an Olympus soon!

This is a terrible deal. You can get the DROID INCREDIBLE for free right now at Best Buy. NOW THAT IS A VALUE. You shouldn’t have to pay for a decent phone. It should be open source and free like DROID DOES.

It’s free at AMZN too. But, it’s not exactly free because if you cancel service before 6 months those resellers will charge you 200-300 dollars. That’s on top of the 300 ETF the carrier will charge. Nothing is free in the end.

whenever i’ve gone to radio shack or best buy and I see their “Mobile” sections I feel like I’m in a rundown fucking K-Mart. None of the phones are on, half of them are scratched, and they all look like they came out of the bottom of a phone recycling bin. Then you have idiots trying to sell you these things who can’t keep the contract terms straight between the networks much less the data useage and overage fees. Go to a real Verizon or Sprint or AT&T or T-Mo store. At least to get to see the phones in working condition and really try before you buy.

I’ve worked at Radioshack and Best Buy and I guarantee I know more about wireless phones than you do.
*We have live phones but they aren’t on display because they get stolen! The fake phones even get stolen!
*Carrier stores have their fare share of incompetent associates as well, so to say that anyone at Radioshack or best buy is an idiot is a broad generalization that I find offensive.
*Best Buy, Radioshack, Walmart all offer lower prices for the exact same phones and DON’T have mail in rebates.

If you as a customer are
1: too stupid to know how to put your own sim card in your new phone and power it on
2: too lazy to learn how to use it, (which is the best part of getting a new phone!!!)
      or
      3: all of the above

Then by all means, go to a Corporate sprint store and pay $300 for an Evo up front, fill out the rebate form (if you remember) and wait 3 to 6 weeks to get a rebate card (that’s if you are lucky enough for it to come bc on average only about sixty percent of people who send in rebates ACTUALLY get them) Then you can use your handy rebate card “where its accepted”

But if you’re smart, you find the phone where you can buy it the cheapest, no mail in rebates, and you follow the prompts on the phone to get your new phone working. It’s simple. If you can’t figure out how to use basic functions on your new phone and can’t navigate it on your own within a few days, the phone is smarter than you. Sad but true.

Back up your device BEFORE you come to Radioshack and bring USB/wall adapter. (or they will take it out of box from new phone)Screen can not be brokenCan not be jailbrokeCan not have a lock code

    • Chellykay

you can trade and save your old phone without turning in your charger, they just give you less money because you are giving them less merchandise…duh.

also If you plan on turning in your old phone, why wouldn’t you wipe your personal info off it anyway??
Just restore it to factory setting before you come in and its fine.

  • Goofan (aka Apple Hater)

Hah! I knew it. Apple is desperate! Us goofan (aka apple haters) know that for every one iPhone google is selling upwards of one million droids… Apple is dead!

Not bad for them, I guess for once you will be able to see more than one person at a Radio shack store.

Awesome deal. They even gave us the trade in price for the 3gs even though we only had the 3g to trade in. 125 for a new iphone 4

  • Warloc66

Got mine today. With the trade-in of my old 3GS I got a 16G iPhone 4 for $25. Not too shabby.

So when did other stores besides ATT start selling the iPhone? I know I am out of it but not into the iPhone so I do not follow it. Was this a break-up of sorts between ATT and Apple? And Verizon is going to sell the iPhone? Man, I thought ATT was the only store that had that contract.

How can you get a new iPhone for $25? I missed this explanation or the article.

Is iPhone still as popular as it has been? I got one when they first came out, had it for 2 days and returned it. My ATT bill for 2 days was already up to $300 for activation and whatever I used during those 2 days to try and get to now the phone. I was not impressed and I could see at least $150+ going to ATT every month.

Are there other smart phones that have the selection of apps and the popularity of the iPhone? My contract with Verizon is up and I am looking to finally get a phone where I can go online, send text, all that iPhone stuff, but I have no idea where to even start looking?

    thanks for any info.
