Apple unsurprisingly only allowing full apps in Mac App Store

Software

Any developers out there that thought they’d be able to submit trial or demo versions of their applications for inclusion in Apple’s Mac App Store are going to unfortunately out of luck. Not unexpected, Apple has chosen to only offer full apps in the upcoming computer-focused application portal. Apple’s suggestion for those of you that still want to distribute beta, trial, or demo versions of your applications? Well, just keep on truckin’ and continue making those versions available on your website for direct distribution. With Mac OS X 10.6.6 just possibly around the corner, we might be browsing Apple’s latest App Store sooner than later (Apple promised a release by mid-January).

thats good as long as they have 1-2 day trial period like Android does, where if you end up not liking the application then you can get a full refund. but if its just you buy the application and if you dont like then your fresh outta luck, then i think that will be bad..very bad

They never said that you can’t post “lite” versions, which are the same as a paid version, and you can keep forever. But that are limited in features or scope. Like the iOS App Store, did they? Just try the lite version and, if you like it, pay for the full version.

They just don’t want software that disappears once you buy it. As they say, no “Demos, Ttrials, or Betas.” All of these time out. The iOS app store doesn’t have that either.

Did they say somewhere that you can’t have a separate Lite and Full-Functionality version of software?

Your trolling is weak, pitiful, and tiresome. At least be original.

Sounds like something “Blobs” would say “We don’t take anything not finished yet”, apparently he forgot about his “antennagate” debacle.

Huge debacle is right, they only sold 14 million iPhone 4′s in the first three months. Obviously there are 14 million people not making calls right?

Ashley Simpson went platinum. Sales don’t equate to quality.

Well put, don’t waste your breath with him/her, “spineless weasel” will always have mindless sheep licking his *ss no matter what he does, good or bad, finished or unfinished. Besides you could sell a polished turd if you market it right. Sales don’t equate quality.

LOL, gotta love this new approach of Mapple, no way Jose I’m getting a craptastic Mac anytime in the near or long future unless MS decided to do the same (unlikely!!!) and even then I will stick to Win, is the beauty of the net, u go here and there looking for things, yup is bad when u hit bad “apples” but then again if ur a bit smart u can use the tools the Net provide, like Google…oh wait I forgot we’re talking about Mapple users who can’t make sense of how to use a pc and need to have everything limited to what Mapple provides for them…well, anyway good luck Mapple ppl :)
