New images of 4-inch, Android, LG Star handset emerge

mobile

What do we have here? It looks like an Android Forum member has acquired not one, but two LG Star handsets. The device has a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen display, 8 megapixel camera, front-facing camera, HDMI-out port, and runs a skinned version of Android 2.2. The device is rumored to have a dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 1500 mAh battery, and 1080p video recording capabilities; rumors that were not substantiated by the user who submitted the images. The photo-taker did post some benchmarks for the unreleased device and , to be honest, they look quite impressive. Hit the read link to check out the full compliment of images and let us know what you think.

    Looks sweet!

why do we have to “hit the link” and register on the android forums to see the benchmarks, why not just post them up here? You would get more hits and it would save me time. meh.

Blogging etiquette? Or maybe Andrew’s just a little lazy and couldn’t bother with the work.

I like this skin a lot. Instead of making their own they stole Samsungs knockoff look of iOS and HTCs time/weather widget. Thats innovation and android for ya!

      Shut the fuck up Donny!

I’ve never been a fan of LG phones. I can’t think of any that aren’t crap… But this looks nice. They finally madeca phone as sleek and sexy as their washer and dryers.

When will people understand that benchmarks mean absolute shit!!!

      Totally agree….they are gullible fools

Read what you just said, it’s so ignorant it’s laughable

Lol. I know what I said and its true. My DroidX benchmarks in the 900′s with rubiX rom. So its no good? On a stock DX u can change build.prop text files to achieve higher benchmark scores and actually hinder performance elsewhere instead of add performance. Its a poor way of comparing two phones side by side. You are the ignorant one.

Im hoping that Sprint Will get a Higher End LG smart phone one of these days….that optimus isnt gonna cut it for me.

It has custom ui so it s crap and I hope no one buys it; custom skins always cause lag ; they always look tacky but most android fans are tacky and unfashionable themselves so they like tacky home screens that make them look like kids or clowns.
People who will buy this phone will never see updates.
Like samsung,lg will promise to update but it will not update.
when galaxy s was announced, it had eclair but the pundits said it will ship with froyo…..it never did. Now they are saying that this phone will ship with gingerbread but it never will .
Rooting to get a custom rom to get gingerbread will not solve the problem because all custom roms are buggy and unstable.

Unfortunately this phone will sell because android fans are bozos and heres what I have to say to android bozos:
Past experience with android devices has proven that performance is a matter of software stability and not just hardware specs. So you pathetic geeks look like complete idiots and make total asses of yourselves when you go nuts over benchmarks and processors while your device is laggy and full of bugs.dont you get it you dumb little shits? Benchmark doesn’t mean jack you idiots.you could benchmark high and still have bugs and lagg you idiots.get it already….sheeesh

Why do you care so much if all of the thousands of people flashing Android and buying these phones are delusional? My Epic has no lag whatsoever maybe I was just a lucky guy..

Because MIUI suuuucks sooooooo bad, oh wait it’s faster than vanilla android.

I’ll agree though, this looks like textbook touchwiz. As long as LG actually release source code, and the bootloader isn’t locked I can see this device succeeding.

As for Samsung, I can’t wait to get my nexus S.

Samsung Hardware + Google Updates + Completely open = Win.
I can’t say the same about the Galaxy S line in America though.

      AAAAAAAAAAMEN

WTF, LG licensed TouchWiz from Samsung!

I was thinkin the same thing that looks just like my Epic.. And Touch Wiz is not all that bad like people make it out to be, I’ll prolly take it off soon but it works fine..
