SlingPlayer Mobile for iPad now available

mobile

Sling Media’s popular placeshifting app is now available on the Apple iPad. The company first announced the eventual arrival of its iPad offering back in March of this year, and the task was apparently a steep one. Almost eight months later, however, SlingPlayer Mobile for iPad is finally here. Owners of Apple’s iPad can now stream live television and movies from their homes to the iPad over Wi-Fi or 3G. Content recorded on a TiVo or DVR can be streamed as well, and SlingPlayer is capable of remotely controlling a wide variety of cable and satellite boxes. The sizable 9.7-inch display on the iPad makes it a perfect candidate for the app, and early reports from users are definitely complimentary. SlingPlayer Mobile for iPad is available immediately in Apple’s App Store for $29.99.

That is because nobody reading BGR cares about something that is actually extremely inportant to the financial industry and Research firms.

And also tipsters like BGR, where do you think they get all of their information (besides engadget, gizmodo, etc.)? And what do you think information like that does to the market once it spreads through the blogosphere and hits legitimate news sources like… let’s say… the Wall Street Journal (insert Verizon iPhone rumor joke here)? The people sending out blurrycam shots of Verizon’s 2011 roadmap could get ball-tapped with some serious consequences…

Been using Slingplayer app on the ipad for a long time now, although its the one designed for the iphone. Now, viewing will be bigger, sweet. Wonder how it will look on the next gen ipad with retina display.

Just bought and installed it in my ipad, and thank God I have a Slingbox solo so it worked like a charm. Love the whole tap menu system and much better than the iphone app. Yes, better quality and has the option to go SD or HQ. Different choices for aspect ratios and being able to save favorites and have it pop up on screen adds better user interface. No need for Hulu when you have a Slingplayer on your phone and now on the ipad. Maybe they can fine tune this app later as an update, but IMO there’s not much to tweak. Of course it works the best on wifi. Too bad it doesn’t work on all slingboxes, thats a major let down.
