Apple ramps up iPad production ahead of holidays

Tablets

Reaffirming a note sent to investors last week by RBC Capital Markets, DigiTimes now reports that iPad production has been increased ahead of the 2010 holiday season. iPad builder Foxconn Electronics has purportedly begun manufacturing iPad units at its new plants in Chengdu, China. These new plants are each capable of assembling 10,000 iPads each day, which is expected to meet demand when added to totals already being built in Foxconn’s Shenzen plants. Foxconn is currently able to build 2.5 million iPads each month at its Shenzen locations.

What for? They won’t sell a single iPad now that the Samsung Galaxy Tab and other Android tablets are or will be coming out. I, along with all the other Goofans (aka Apple Haters), predict that Apple will sell somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 iPads now that Android’s out!

      straight trollin’

      • Goofan (aka Apple Hater)

I know. That’s all that CrApple does! Troll! You and I, Eric, are Goofans (aka Apple Haters) true to the brand and the people of Google!!!

        Dude, at least be funny.

      • Goofan (aka Apple Hater)

I know. I am losing my edge. I have been reviewing all these Android products coming out and haven’t had much time to sleep or rest.

Love the avatar though. Who’s that? Your girlfriend? If it’s you, darn… darn!

      • Norm

I agree. Perhaps that is VZW and DROID came up with something that sums it all up so we don’t have to think… DROID DOES. Does crApple have that good of a slogan? NO! FAIL. DROID FTW!!!

      • Goofan (aka Apple Hater)

I am so amazed by your wisdom Norm… You are what I aspire to become!!!!! You are MY HERO.

      • Dario69

I second xFenixKnightx. If you are going to be sarcastic at least be funny about it. You are not helping your cause, if anything it makes me like Android more knowing what sort of Apple fans I am dealing with here as a new iPad owner. Maybe I should return it for a Tab?

      • Norm

        Dario,

That is a classic move. The Ol’ “I own an ipad/iphone” line. We know you have a DROID Galaxy Tab just like us. Quit trolling pretending you are a crApple fan and join in the DROID LOVE Fest.

    • http://twitter.com/andrewwray Andrew Wray

You’re joking, right? You have to be with a statement such as that…

      • Goofan (aka Apple Hater)

        wink wink

    • Norm

I’m completely agree. I actually have 2-3 Galaxy Tabs that I take with my for different occasions. I’m sure most people will buy multiples as well. I really don’t see ipads selling any more now that the DROID Galaxy Tab is out. DROID!

      • Goofan (aka Apple Hater)

Hey Norm! It was sad brother. I was in an Apple Store here in Orlando and I could see the Apple employees PLEADING, get that? PLEADING for people to buy! They would say “please buy or I lose my job! Or worse!” Can you believe that shit????!!!!! Apple is so screwed up. I am going to make a bold prediction, as Droid continues to DO and CrApple DOESN’T, they will be out of business and bought out by Google, just so they can fire everyone and discontinue that piece of shit money losing brand by this time next year.

Doesnt everyone ramp up production of all their products right before Christmas? I mean really BGR…
In that title you could have put Samsung TVs and it still would hold true…

Your bias shows more and more every day…

    Sad

    • Goofan (aka Apple Hater)

Don’t worry, the lord, Google and Eric Schmidt, will get these devil worshipers at BGR. It’s no secret they love Apple’s products. You, along with I and all the Goofans (aka Apple Haters), would NEVER EVER get OR like an Apple product. We are TOO SMART for Apple products. Apple products are intellectually inferior to ANYTHING Google offers!

      • Fastwalking

If you actually believe what you are saying then wtf are you doing spending so much time on this site? Move on buddy and take your goo with you.

I assume that most manufacturers increase their production for the holidays. The difference is that Apple will sell all of theirs at their demanded retail price and still not have enough to go around. Everyone will have enough units to have a 50%+ off sale after the holidays.

Some companies try, Apple just simply gets it done.

    • Goofan (aka Apple Hater)

How dare you monster say something positive about Apple in this post??? Apple doesn’t do a single good thing. Their products suck, their service sucks (it’s BS that they always score the highest in customer satisfaction) and their company SUCKS! Get it through your head.

You see, that’s why Goofans (aka Apple Haters) are the smartest people ALIVE! We know more about everything than ANYONE!

The only reason they sell their inventory is because they get people to come over and buy them as a threat. If they don’t buy them, Apple will send someone to kill them!!!!!

Heads up for more suicide jumps off the rooftop of Foxconn’s employee apartment.

  • http://twitter.com/andrewwray Andrew Wray

I’m not surprised. Apple is expected to sell more devices during the holiday quarters, makes sense that they’d ramp up iPad production to meet the expected demand.

    • Norm

No, they are all talk. The only tablet that is selling is the Samsung DROID Galaxy Tab. It does everything you NEED! I really love the rear camera. Its so easy to just whip out and take phones during all of those spur of the moments im out with my DROID tab like at football games, the bar, and parties!

      • Riley Biers

        LOL you’re one cool dude…

  • Tiger808

Norm and Goofan are idiots! Get a life dudes, seriously!

    • Goofan (aka Apple Hater)

And I am sure you are an Apple loving douche bag right???? I hate people like you. Love Apple and you love the devil. Join the Google revolution. There will be no government, no companies, ONLY Google. Tell ‘em Norm. They haven’t seen the light yet.

      • Anonymous

Goofan if you’re hanging with Norm that can only lead to trouble. Next thing you know you’ll be selling droids in some Texas mall. Not a good scenario for you young man. Stay away from the crack and stay on school. Norm will only lead you down the path to the evil Droid empire.

  • knarf

    Why?

  • Iamajimm

my goodness, where do they all go?? i don’t think i’ve seen one in the wild yet and i live in san diego; there must be more ipads now than big macs lol, maybe untold billions.

    • Steel

Seriously, I’ve never seen one in the wild. Ever. Don’t know anyone that has one.In one sentence, please tell me why someone needs one.

I know this comment isn’t really related to the post, but it’s important for iPhone 3GS users. I was able to setup my iPhone 3GS with Find My iPhone for free! All I did was download the app, setup the MobileMe account with my Apple ID from within the Mail settings in the Settings app, grant permission for Find My iPhone, and will good faith I headed over to the FMiP app and… Voila! My iPhone 3GS was discoverable on the map! I even tested sending it a message with my iPad, and it worked!

    • David A.

However, if an article I read is correct, you need to ACTIVATE MobileMe with an Apple ID on a 4th gen iPod touch, iPhone 4, or iPad. Once you do that, you can install the Find My iPhone app on older devices, log into MobileMe (your Apple ID), and then you can use FMiP from those older devices as well. That can explain how I got mine working. I activated MobileMe on my iPad, and then I installed FMiP on my iPhone 3GS, logged into MobileMe, and it started working.

I wonder how long before we hear more news about Foxxconn worker abuse. I was hoping by now Apple would have found another manufacturer for their products. Apple and others should be ashamed of the crappy worker abuse monster they feed with their money.

  • Anonymous

Dejavu? Didn’t BGR already have news about RBC claiming ipad production expected to be 40m this year? Like day or two ago?

  • Ryan Richards

I don’t see how this is news worthy. Don’t all companies ramp up production of products leading up to the holidays? Is it the fact this is Apple make it news worthy, I don’t get it.

doesn’t everyone understand how the ‘cool’ factor works? if you don’t already know, it is ‘hip’ to own, use, and rave about products that the majority of the public don’t. if and when android overtakes ios on devices, which it will considering the sheer amount of units it operates on, sentiment will start to turn again, as the masses grow tired of being associated with the crowd of the ‘popular’ choice. then apple will rise again just like dejavu. apple has grown a little too big for its britches, but suddenly everyone forgets how big google actually is, and their shady connections with the cia, etc. so odd how people love to hate success. the samsung galaxy tablet looks good, but i’m looking for significant added value if i were to buy one. i personally don’t own a tablet, as i still don’t see how they deliver something better than a netbook / laptop, or a cell phone… other than an in-between screen-size.
