Facebook accounted for 25% of all page views in U.S. last week

General

You may not love social network giant Facebook, you may not see value in their new messaging system, but — at this point — you really can’t ignore them. Further evidence of that fact comes from a recent report filed by Experian’s Hitwise group. As the report reads:

The amount of content consumption taking place on the popular social network [Facebook] has also grown substantially where nearly 1 in 4 page views in the US took place on Facebook.com for the week ending November 13, 2010.

Facebook also clocked in with just over 10% of all site visits in the U.S.; YouTube placed second in both categories with 6.39% of pageviews and over 7% of site visits. Those are some mind-bending numbers coming from the privately held company. Hit the read link to check out the full report.

So what are you saying? Facebook is popular? or people don’t have a life, and need virtual friends? Or the porn industry is taking a hit due to Facebook?

      All of the above.

……… and Tim Berners-Lee is concerned that Apple is trying to build their own World Wide Web. Sounds like Facebook has already taken over the Web. That is amazing, whether you look at it as FaceBook being popular or people have no lives.

Looks like Facebook has taken its toll on you then, as you don’t seem to be able to spell, use proper punctuation or form a legible and properly formatted sentence.

It doesn’t seem too surprising, as with facebook you are constantly changing pages to view profiles and photos, but with youtube and other sites you may spend 5 minutes on the same page to watch a movie, or even longer to read a news story.
