HP: webOS 2.0 coming to Pre, Pre Plus, Pixi, Pixi Plus in ‘coming months’

Software

Speaking at HP’s webOS Developer Day in New York City, developer advocate Josh Marinacci noted that webOS 2.0 would be coming to all webOS devices “in the coming months.” While the timeline lacks the specificity we prefer, it is nice to know that the full array of Palm devices will get the new OS goodies soonish. Hit the jump to see the full presentation from Mr. Marinacci.

thats funny if they don’t how come not just laptopmag comeptition polls months ago beat out all your droid phones, iphones etc by over 10k votes. Then when a poll for sprint came out a few weeks ago about which OS to support the most Webos won again by a large margin. Your once again stuck in your own box, you and the rest of the the world will wake up from this dream of a fragmented, not a complete linux OS in android, and come to terms with the future Webos.

DROID updates all devices, period. I’d like to see any carrier catch up. So what if our older device is a year old and we stopped updating it… DROID DOES!

HP confirmed this a while back. At that time though, they were saying “by the end of the year” so .. this is actually more vague than before. oh well, already ordered my developer edition Pre 2 which will hold me over until whatever they announce at CES.

I’m sure there will be rampant hate in this comment thread soon enough, so I’ll say this now:
Reserve your judgement on webOS devices until you’ve used one running at 1GHz. It’s.. magical

The only reason I want the Pre2 over the Pre is the improved build quality (plus the glass screen, improved camera, faster and more RAM, etc)

WebOs is dead! Long live WebOS!

Palm screwed us over with the pre. Updates were nothing to be exited about as most of the said updates were available on preware. The hardware is flimsy (running my 5th pre now) and the app store is pathetic. I am not an happy camper! Why did they drop the TREOS!?!?

Now they are going to release yet another update that will have nothing spectacular. By the way it has been almost a year since we were promised flash support…
