HTC’s Trophy handset with Windows Phone 7 to hit Verizon in ‘early 2011′

General

If you’re committed — contractually or voluntarily – to U.S. cellular carrier Verizon Wireless, and have been feeling a little left out of all the Windows Phone 7 fun, listen up. New intel gathered by Engadget tips the HTC Trophy WP7 set on Verizon for an “early 2011″ launch. The device will sport a 3.8-inch WVGA, capacitive touch screen display along with Wi-Fi b/g/n, 16GB storage, Bluetooth 2.1, and a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash. The device is also a “world phone” and contains a quad-band GSM radio.

The info comes courtesy of the above flyer offering pre-orders of the device — for $199 — to Microsoft employees. What do you think?

Purchase in 2011 but offer only valid through December 31st? I call FAKE!

…This is the employee pre-order. The PUBLIC won’t get this until 2011. They mean that the employees can get this, which implies we can too eventually.

Looks like Windows Phone 7 will hit all carriers by next year.

It’s a preorder for MSFT employees. They did the same thing for ATT and TMo.

I guess I have to play with one cause I seriously have no interest or excitement for these windows phones. Their commercials promote a phone that you don’t want to play with… Idgi?

Yeah I did always find that odd about the commercials.
Anyone I didn’t think too much of it a couple days ago, but after playing with the HD7 and Dell Venue Pro at the Microsoft Store on Sunday, I really liked it.
When WP7 gets those couple essential features it is missing (Copy and paste, multi tasking, good SD support, and sideloading whether official or hacked) I will seriously consider picking one up.
I just wish the Venue Pro was available with AT&T bands. That phone is very nicely designed.

      that’s not what they’re promoting…

Verizon, you chose the wrong phone! Bring on HD7 or the Focus!
