Well that’s one way to make sure no one buys it.

Something running Android 2.1 + the price + not a phone = good luck making these popular Samsung.

gonna wait until 3.0, and phone capability. Or, I may just go with Playbook. early adopters will be sorry they got the first iteration of the tab, IMO.

I’m also going to wait for the Playbook (which will probably be my last ditch effort to stick with BB before bolting to another smartphone platform), but I do so knowing that ALL early adopters of any device (even if it eventually succeeds, it will be replaced by a better version) are somewhat sorry that they jumped at the new item.

I do think this one, however, will fail because of the pricing. The Playbook may be similarly priced (seeing this price scares me) but it will be embraced by corporate environments more than an Android device (at least initially) leading to greater sales.

Hate to be “that guy”, but wouldn’t it make more sense to come in CHEAPER than iPad…?

Perhaps but Samsung is charging the US carriers too much to resell it.

Plus ATT is obviously doing what it can (ever so subtly) to make this a less attractive option than purchasing the iPad by charging more for it.

ATT has used the same tactics by neutering and reselling less attractive Android options so as to not take the spotlight off the iPhone.

obviously you don’t know too much about AT&T, they do not try to keep the iPhone in the spotlight or push it b/c they make NO money off of it!!

I wish they would admit that this tab will not be upgradeable to 3.0. You will have to wait and buy the Galaxy Tab 2.0 when it comes out in February.

really? I didn’t know that! Thank you for letting me know because I WAS going to get one tomorrow…but not now

I still think the price should have been lower..

Wow, $24.99 for 2GB of data?? How much for the vaseline and where’s the Police report for the rape charge?? I feel sorry for those who must deal with the Death Star. Just lame…

Ok. I will wait and see if they upgrade it from android 2.2, to android 2.3 or android 3.0.
