Apple to introduce ‘iTunes Live Stream’ service tomorrow?

Software

A bit of digging into a property list file included with Apple’s latest build of iTunes, version 10.1, may give us a hint as to what Apple might introduce in the near future. The plist file in question makes reference to “iTunes Live Stream,” an unannounced service that could find itself at the center of Apple’s announcement tomorrow. There is currently no solid information in terms of what iTunes Live Streaming might entail, but speculation ranges from live streaming of television programming to live user-generated audio and video streams. While nothing is known for sure, iTunes Live Streaming will likely be one of the first new services to make use of the $1 billion data center Apple is currently building.

    I’m a believer.

This is the main reason I would put money into Apple over Google, they release products in a timely manner. Still waiting on Google music…

      What a stupid reason.

      • KidPhat

Thank you for sharing your opinion. The truth of the matter is, timely execution is key to product success.

I agree with John, taking crap up the ass from apple because you feel apple releases it’s crap faster is not a good excuse…why not take a different provider like MS…they have had streaming and full access music (Zune) for years and it kicks ass…

First of, I don’t own a single Apple product. Second, I wasn’t talking about buying Apple products but investing in Apple as a company. Unfortunately, I ended up praising them for nothing.

So 2 years to add copy+paste and 3 years to add gimped multitasking is timely?

The only thing timely about iTunes is how long it’s been a bloated POS.

You really need to learn how to be pro-something and not anti-something else. As I stated before, I don’t buy Apple products but I do appreciate their business practices.

So, hopefully by live stream they mean streaming of my own, personal, non-iTunes bought content over the internet to my phone…right? Hopefully it’s free (right..)

  • Mrcygnus

It’s cloud based data streaming…your computer, your data, your content, any where an internet connection exists. Mark my words.

    • sirpaul

What about cost? I don’t think an advertisement model would work with streaming.

      • Mrcygnus

Anywhere you create a venue, you create a space/demand for advertising. I’ll look at an ad to the right of 100% of my data on any internet capable device, any day of the week. No?

    DROID already does this…..YAWN!!!!!!

    I always said that…
Since when that server farm was shown to “human” people XD

I can already see the headline: “iTunes Live Stream. The magical and revolutionary way to hear your music and watch your videos. Over-the-air.”

  • Jimmyj

    Beatles.

It seems like “cloud-based data streaming” would require some kind of demo, which isn’t planned for tomorrow. Beatles availability, on the other hand, could be handled in a press release.

    Boner day for fanboys tomorrow

  • Bullyboyb

I wont be suprised if their next ios is a variation of windows phone 7 tiles, (laugh till i drop.) I saw this coming the day microsoft anount zune intergration. Apple have a tendency of bootlegging others ideas and making a few additions and variations and calling it groundbreaking. (reminds me of angry birds) lol

Just had to add my 2 cents.

  • Mritalian76

Lol why do people always say. Someone else already does this. Ex: android already does this. Who cares chopdroid os blows. It’s not a apple iPhone. I guess when the android is phones came out I couldn’t said. Huh big deal apple already did this. Grow up.

  • Mritalian76

Along with apps and everything else

  • Hisham

  • Bob
