Apple releases Mac OS X 10.6.5

Breaking

Moments ago, Apple released its Mac OS X 10.6.5 update to its customer-base. Fixes in the point-upgrade include:

• improve reliability with Microsoft Exchange servers
• address performance of some image-processing operations in iPhoto and Aperture
• address stability and performance of graphics applications and games
• resolve a delay between print jobs
• address a printing issue for some HP printers connected to an AirPort Extreme
• resolve an issue when dragging contacts from Address Book to iCal
• address an issue where dragging an item from a stack causes the Dock to not automatically hide
• resolve an issue with Wikipedia information not displaying correctly in Dictionary
• improve performance of MainStage on certain Mac systems
• resolve spacing issues with OpenType fonts
• improve reliability with some Bluetooth braille displays
• resolve a VoiceOver issue when browsing some web sites with Safari 5

The OS update is — purportedly — the first step in a three-stage software rollout due this week from Apple; iTunes 10.1 and iOS 4.2 are also supposed be released. Hit the “Software Update” section in OS X to get the new goodies. Enjoy.

…..because you are looking at Android being so fragmented. ha!

      • SikFuk

You’re misinformed about the whole fragmentation thing.. You’re bottom scraping for insults and cannot come up with anything relevant.

YAWNNNNNNN…. DROID 2.3 will be coming to the Fascinate very soon. That is far more breaking news IMO!

    • Faalkor

When did Verizon start updating physical hardware with software version numbers? Or maybe Droid 2.3 is the version of the advertising campaign….if you are going to troll at least do it right idiot. The OS is Android, Droid is a term made up by VZW for the Norms of the world to latch onto.

      • rawrrawr

obviously he did it right because you’re taking the time to call him an idiot

Because it took me 30 to 45 seconds to reply, he did it right? If you say so. Unfortunately BGR took away to bury comments so now I am forced to to read garbage totally unrelated to the Mac OS because the fandroids just can’t help themselves.

Since I own a Mac I am actually interested to see comments pertaining to the actual topic…but I am now forced to see this drivel…

Hey Norm! You are right. It’s CrApple! Android is a lot more relevant AND most importantly POWERFUL than OSX. You can do more and better with Android. Which is by far the MOST powerful OS EVER made. I am powering EVERYTHING in my house with Android 1.6 NO OTHER. Just the early versions of Android were more powerful than this crap named OSX.

This coming from a GOOFAN (aka Apple Hater) and we know WAY MORE than anyone else about ANYTHING technology!!!!!

Anyone that has the older MacBook Pro (2007-2008) with the multitouch trackpad 10.6.5 now brings the same scrolling effect in safari the new “glass trackpads” do. Kinda cool i guess.

I would be far more excited if my early 2008 Macbook Pro logic board didn’t get fried by the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT problem a few days ago.

      • serpentor

I’m still waiting for Apple to own up to fried logic boards of 2006 iMacs.

    • Christopher

Glad I’m not the only one who noticed that. And it’s not just Safari, it’s system-wide.

I just want some news about the new iPhone 4! =P

    Is this really “Breaking” News?

  • http://twitter.com/CliphNotz Moses Wilson

I think the implication is that is deserving of note because it is the first of a series of updates scheduled for this week that will affect nearly the entire lineup of Apple devices. And that, to me, qualifies as news.

ios4 with a working alarm clock please.!!!

  • Nathan

Does this update resolve the issues with nVidia drivers for some games (such as StarCraft 2) which forces the user to play in the lowest quality?

  • Sssssssssss

Thank you BGR for being able to report an OS update without using it as another excuse to bash Adobe as AI has done.

hmm, great, this update make some sense for iPhone users, I like it! Hope this update won’t affect some of my 3-rd party software, like iFunia Video Converter for my video converting~~
