Verizon gets official with DROID Pro; $179.99, November 18th

Verizon has officially taken the wraps off of the pricing and release date for the Motorola DROID Pro. The candybar-style, full-QWERTY device will retail for $179.99 with a two-year contract (after a $100 mail-in rebate) and will be available for pre-order starting tomorrow, November 9th, on verizonwireless.com; the device will be available through all VZW sales channels beginning on the 18th of November. Verizon Wireless customers who purchase DROID PRO will receive the mail-in rebate in the form of a debit card; upon receipt, customers may use the card as cash anywhere debit cards are accepted.  DROID PRO customers will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan (beginning at $39.99 monthly access) and a 3G Smartphone Plan.

    I’d get one if i wasn’t locked in contract with asuck&suck… seems like a perfect merge of blackberry and android… this could shake up the “business” world… not so much this particular device, but if the format catches on, to truly bury blackberry… unless RIM steps up the QNX OS and fires back…

    What’s up with “mail-in” rebates? I think even Sears stopped that, S&H green stamps and layaway like 20 years ago.
    How about just instant, or e-mail rebates. Mail-in rebates? GTFOH
