WSJ: International Trade Commision will side with Nokia in Apple patent case

mobile

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that International Trade Commission (ITC) staffers, in a pre-hearing statement, noted that evidence in a pending patent-case Apple launched against Nokia will “not establish a violation.” Nokia and Apple have been exchanging legal blows since October of 2009; both companies have filed multiple complaints with the ITC in an attempt to get the competition’s importing rights banned.

“The ITC staff said on Monday that some of the Apple patents were invalid and others weren’t infringed,” writes the WSJ. “The statement said that if a judge determines Nokia violated patents, he should ban some Nokia phones from being imported into the U.S.”

The judge is expected to render a final decision in February.

I’ve never laughed so hard at a BGR post’s picture before. And good for Nokia, tired of Apple claiming they have patent’s on the whole freakin’ world.

You know Nokia’s not infringing on Apple patents, because if they were they’d have some decent products.

Troll. Youre just like Steve Jobs, spin the topic so people wont actually see the truth. The only reason Apple even filed this suit is because theyre being sued by Nokia. Yeah thats right, when you dont have a real defense just counter sue on some random patents.

When Steve Jobs cant sleep at night, he just starts counting iPhone owners.

He’s a troll? Look at your own message, which reeks of blind, bias hatred. Oh, btw, it is standard practice in the electronics sector that when a company is sued, they sue back.

So, with that said, Apple is just going through the motions. They don’t really have anything but want others to believe that manufacturers are stealing their IP = LAME

They WILL pay Nokia. These are just stall tactics. One out of every three phones on the planet is a Nokia and having almost a 15yr head start, it is not even conceivable that Apple will win this case. Some 40 companies have already entered into licensing agreements with Nokia for GSM, UMTS, and wireless LAN standards covering “wireless data, speech coding, security and encryption”, except for Apple. Apple believes they are above Licensing Agreements
