We’ve just received a tip about a small fire that occurred at a RIM warehouse. Details about the safety of those working in the warehouse and what was stored in the warehouse were not disclosed. We’ve reached out to Research In Motion and will update this post with any response.

UPDATE: The CBC is reporting the following:

Firefighters have put out a blaze at a warehouse belonging to Research in Motion in Cambridge, Ont.

The local fire department received a 911 call of an explosion and fire just before 4 a.m. ET Thursday on Cherry Blossom Road.

Waterloo Regional Police say the fire broke out in part of the building that was being renovated. The sprinkler system was activated and helped firefighters get the blaze under control.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters remained at the scene looking for any hot spots. They were also walking through with representatives from the high-tech company, trying to determine the cause of the fire.
