Samsung Mobile Display to showcase 7-inch Super AMOLED, Galaxy Tab bound?

Tablets

Blog oled-display.net is reporting that Samsung Mobile Display will showcase a new, 7-inch, Super AMOLED display at the FPD-International conference in Japan from November 10th to the 12th. The report states that the new window will have a 1200 x 600 resolution and will be available to manufacturers in the later half of 2011. “The new OLED Panel production line starts mid-June 2011 and boost the capacity from 3 million to 30 million small and middle panels per month,” writes oled-display. Hopefully, this added manufacturing prowess makes Super AMOLED display shortages a thing of the past.

At the moment, the most obvious application for this new, larger Super AMOLED display would be in Samsung’s Galaxy Tab slate; as the device currently uses a 7-inch display. Would anyone prefer a Galaxy Tab with a Super AMOLED display as opposed to the device’s current WSVGA TFT offering?

Oh this great. Just in time for the Galaxy Tab 2 which will come with 3.1 that the orignal Tab either wont get or Samsung wont release. Awesome!

This is why I will not be purchasing this tab. So many android fanboys are flocking to this thing already. Have you seen LGs optimism pro 8.9″ tab? Complete with dual-core tegra processor and gingerbread. This galaxy tab is not ready for primetime. Just another business trying tl squeeze extra cash flow from the unknowing.

wow, way to kill your own first generation Galaxy tab sales! Why would I buy the first gen now that they say second will have a better screen.

Samsung is beginning to make me sick! How moronic, hey lets release another one 3 months later after we just ripped everyone off for $500 with one that does not have as good a screen! How bout focus on bringing Froyo to the Galaxy line you butt heads..

Right, because if they focus on screen manufacturing, obviously they can’t simultaneously work on software… .

Samsung software is some of the worst in the industry – I keep away from their stuff

Marketing hype like apple, the display size limits the detail the eye can see.
