Palm Pre Plus 2 pre-orders begin November 8

mobile

Windows Phone 7 has been getting a lot of press as the new mobile OS on the block over the last few months, but webOS aficionados and smartphone junkies alike know that webOS 2.0 — and the Palm Pre 2 — will be storming the U.S. market in the very near future. How near you ask? Well, according to HP’s Facebook page, just six days from now on November 8th. The company posted the following message:

HP for Students – US: Check out the new Palm Pre Plus 2, pre-orders begin 11/8

It is unclear whether the “pre-orders” the post is referring to will be for the Verizon Wireless Pre Plus 2 or an unlocked GSM device that is rumored to exist for developers. Looks like we’ll find out soon enough!

I hope it’s the unlocked GSM model that will be sold on the HP website! Anyone know if the Pre Plus 2 will have the T-Mobile AWS 3G bands? I’m really considering to buy this phone if so.

Would it kill Em to put a virtual keyboard in that thing, just use both physical and physical

i played with it, it does have a virtual keyboard

I doubt it will be the unlocked GSM model, if anything it would be the verizon one, as that will bring in more attention to the phone. More than likely they’ll be launched side by side or the GSM one being a soft launch without much fanfare

I too hope it’s the verizon phone. I really want to get a phone with this OS. I think this might be the right time to jump in. I think…..

Yawn. Pre’s suck–first version or second. Major UGH! Stupid screen is very hard to read, thanks to fixed/tiny fonts. Bleccch!

Does HP not realize the reason Palm’s Pre line failed wasn’t because of their OS (which is amazing), but their craptastical hardware. Why oh WHY would you use the same stupid design?!

I think that the pre 2 is being RELEASED on the 8th. think about it. It is a pun “pre-orders” you can order your pre starting on the 8th. Wishful thinking???

I played with this phone at my vz store, the 1ghz proc is awesome and very noticeable. it doesnt feel anywhere as cheap as the first gen. Really fast, good feel. Still not giving up my X though. For palm fans, rejoice! its not junk..

I love web OS. I just hate the blackberry keyboard and this tiny screen.
Give me Web OS on a iPhone-like 4″ touch screen, or in a G2 style (horizontal physical keyboard)
    and 1Ghz/512MB ram.

If not for that same teeny tiny screen I just might go back to WebOs. Since they stuck with the same overall style and design of the original Pre, I’m not even slightly interested in this phone! No thanks. We want at least a 4″ or larger screen, front facing camera, and a much improved/bigger keyboard without the cheap rubbery buttons!!! This is the same ol’ bs and we haven’t forgot how cheap & plasticy the original pre was! As for the new 1ghz chip that’s a big step forward. Better hurry up and get the big screen phones released HPalm before we give up and forget what WebOs is! BIG thumbs down for the micro mini touch screen!!! My EVO wipes It’s ass with junk like this! Somebody should be fired for letting this phone be put into production! This phone will be a failure, wait and see.
