Notion Ink reveal interface updates for the upcoming Adam tablet

Tablets

The guys over at Notion Ink in India have revealed some user-interface updates for their upcoming Adam tablet. The tablet is expected to ship in late November 2010 and will sport a re-worked Android browser with a novel system to allow for non-intrusive tab switching. Amongst other small UI tweaks, the developers have uploaded a video of the tablet cutting through a 1080p clip like butter. The Adam tablet will come in two flavors, an LCD model and a Pixel Qi trans-reflective LCD variant; both of which rock a CPU/GPU combo of 1GHz dual-core Arm Cortex-A9 processor and Nvidia Tegra 2. Connectivity wont be a problem since the tablet is believed to feature 2 USB ports, a micro USB port, an HDMI-out port, a microSD card slot, and SIM card slot. Android aficionados will be happy to know the tablet will run Android 2.2 when released. Whilst the tech specs are more than satisfying, it remains to be seen if it can live up to buzz. Just an FYi…

both of which rock a CPU/GPU combo of 1GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor and Nvidia Tegra 2.

Nvidia Tegra 2 is based on ARM Cortex-A9…http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nvidia_Tegra#Tegra_2xx_series

It isn’t a mix of the two… it just runs a Tegra 2 which is based on the ARM architecture.

I know its no iPad, but man I really hope this thing comes to fruition. I want a tablet, but also want access to the file system on that tablet.

    Crunchpad redux.

    You heard me.

Color me interested. I have been following along since the beginning and this is shaping up to be a really nice piece of tech. I have to disagree with John Connor…this is NOT the Crunchpad in any way, shape or form. Yes its had its ups and downs and has been loved and dismissed by many but it has never fallen off the game plate. Every time I think Ive seen it for the last time, it pops up in a more complete form. Whether it shows up at the end of the month…well, we will have to wait and see. For now I’m still along for the ride.

Many eons ago… my first desktop computer was something called the COLECOVISION ADAM. Such incredible technology… cassette tape “disk” drive, Daisy-wheel printer. And now the release of a new “Adam” product piques my interest. Life comes full circle…

I want this badly! Only drawback from what’s on their blog is that this won’t work with the Market place. However, I’m sure that will be hacked. This Tab does everythign I want.
