AppleCare protection plans now transferable to new products

Exclusive

Apple has made changes to its policy regarding the transferability of AppleCare Protection Plans, a source told BGR. Starting immediately, an Apple customer will have the ability to transfer AppleCare Protection Plan coverage to a new device without having to cancel the current plan and purchase a new one. Though no formal announcement has been made to the public, Apple notified its employees of the new procedure on Monday. The policy change, which applies only to eligible purchases made within the 30-day period prior to a transfer request, simplifies the buying process for customers. AppleCare Protection Plans for the iPhone have been transferable since June of this year, and now the new policy will apply to all Apple products eligible to be covered by a protection plan.

this new commenting system is a pain in the a$$ and I hate it. My guess that is why there are abnormally few comments today.

I imagine it will take a day or two until we see Sandy, Jarret, and MacMan back. Then things will return to normal.

i have to agree on certain levels donny.

      I will miss
      1) disliking to be disliked for fun.
      2) having fun changing names quickly to suit a comment
      3) liking to achieve “liked”

      The gains here are:
      1) edit your comment
      2) have a profile
      3) More people will probably use avatars

All in all I’ll miss the old system

i thought it was fun to change names and also dislike and like and see how people really felt. improvements on this system appear to include having a profile.

The Onion would like to hire the breacher of Apple’s “internal only” confidentiality as a muse. Since we really don’t have a confidentiality issue here–i.e. we are not releasing an Onion Tablet iPad killer–it’s not an issue. We will also double whatever Apple was paying him or her.
