Apple confirms white iPhone 4 devices not available “until this Spring”

So, so sad. According to Reuters and Digital Daily, Apple has confirmed to that the white version of the iPhone 4 is still a far ways off. The official quote?

We’re sorry to disappoint customers waiting for the white iPhone yet again, but we’ve decided to delay its release until this Spring.

We’re not sure what to make of it. We previously heard from a senior Apple source that Apple’s fixed the white iPhone manufacturing issues about a month ago. Does this mean they are timing it with the mythical Verizon iPhone? If not, and it does come out in the Spring, why release a white version at all at that point?

Apple will most likely have another model out by June/July anyway.

        whats nerdy about him listing 3 phones better than the iphone? May be nerdy but its true. How hard is it to match a color? Especially since they have been working on it since june of 2009. Apple still doesnt know what a widget is, but that has nothing to do with being colorblind.

    Pointless to even wait for a white iPhone 4.. I don’t think that Verizon will be releasing their iPhone in Spring, my prediction is around January and Feb.? Any opinions on this?

    This is becoming a major embarrassment for Apple. By spring time, we’re already going to be caring about the next iPhone. While it will be nice to see the iPhone 4 available at 99 dollars in hopefully black and white, “spring” is a pretty broad period. If they mean March, then it makes sense. If they are thinking they can get away with releasing this thing in April or May, then they are dumb as hell. I’m sure people will buy it anyway but their savviest customers know better. Then again, with Apple treating the release of the MacBook Air as their rediscovery of their unique netbook model, I’ve come to expect misses as well as hits from Apple. This is clearly a miss.

    Maybe the aesthetics are just off. To me the above picture looks more like a Nintendo product than Apple.

    I contacted Apple to see if this was true. The Apple Sales Rep looked into this for me and found nothing. The only thing she could see was that the iPhone will still be released at the end of this year. (In My Opinion) It’s possible the white iPhone 4 could be released tonight via the Apple Online Store. If the Apple Store App was showing the white iPhone 4 being able to become reserved at some point today, it’s possible it could come out tonight seeing as Tuesday nights is when the store goes down for new products.

    I don’t believe this to be true. They just updated the apple store app with the white iPhone. The timing doesn’t make sence. I don’t believe in this, a verizon iPhone, or Santa Claus.

    OH, bad news for white iphone fans! Especially the one who are waiting for it! What’s up with Apple’s white iPhone???
    Well, White is a traditional color for Apple products, and the white one is really cool and lovely, but I think the black also tempting too, even looks a little mystical, so I got it. It is fantastic too…
    The iP4′s picture definition …I’m speachless….personally I really like the grouping of apps much tidier than before and the camera zoom. And as the iPhone 4 high-definition video clips, watch video on IPhone 4 are so cool and amazing! and I have download the iPhone 4 Video Converter from iFunia, Im suck in enjoying my favourite movies on the go!

    hmm, maybe I will also get the white one then this one give to my son!

    Its annoying that Apple pushes the release dates on their products so often but as usual, this looks like a winner. The White 3GS was a great product as well and i’m sure the iPhone 4 in white will be equally catchy.
