Samsung announcing new hardware November 8

Got a thing for Samsung and Android? Samsung has just sent out a media blast announcing that they will be unveiling “a new Android device.” The invitation not-so-cryptically has TouchWiz icons and a stock-ticker image… our guess would be we’re going to see the Continuum Galaxy S handset with the second, AMOLED, “ticker” display. Any other conspiracy theories?

      Seriously, get something else while you’re waiting. Sticking out of loyalty is a burning and sinking ship.

      Wasting years of time that could’ve better been spent building a foundation somewhere else, or at least spreading your eggs and building experience.

    Hmm. With Samsung’s horrible delays of releasing updates to their current devices, I’d have to pass unless it came with 2.3 pre-installed.

    WTF…Release 2.2 for the current Galaxy devices before bringing new Devices to the market…so typical of Samsung.

      I agree…funny thing is…mom decided on the Droid X, over the droid 2 last week…godddam thing is still running 2.1…I really cant believe it…awesome phone, but why the hold hold up for a .1 update?? they pull this shit with certain phones…pisses people off, that went and paid the money for a good high end phone w/contract. They keep saying they going to release the friggin thing…gimme a break already…3.0 is right around the corner..makes no nense..

        Why are we so impatient? Enjoy what you have before wanting the next best thing, even though there isn’t a big difference between 2.1 and 2.2…besides Flash

        Its not just Flash, the OS has tweaks and is just Faster overall.

        not enough for it to be a huge step from 2.1, at least I haven’t seen enough of a jump from all the comparisons

        There are a lot of apps in the App Market which require 2.2, such is Google Search. This App requires 2.2, allows for voice search and voice text plus more. Chrome to phone also requires 2.2, latest you tube app, 2.2! Oh and this other very popular app, it’s the latest version maybe you’ve heard of it, Gmail app? Needs 2.2. And yes flash would be nice.

        Uhhh. This is a Samsung post, but whatever. Also, 2.2 has been out for the Droid X for a while now. Download it for her. It’s under settings>about>update. Or something like that.

    I’m guessing it’s going to be the Continuum as well, but it would be pretty boss if they pulled a RIM and completely surprised us w/ something unexpected. I mean, that would be a better reason for having a huge press release, right?

    if it is the Continuum, it will probably have a 2 hour battery life, which is a no buy for me.

    It would be great if it was the Samsung Beam i8520 / Samsung Galaxy Beam. That pico packing phone has dropped off the face of the internet until it’s recent mention as it and all it’s pico powers were put to use to help entertain the Chilean Miner who were trapped for several months. This is one of the few devices that I was actually looking forward to and it’s general release did not come, so I hope this is it!!!!
