Sprint's HTC Knight rears its beautiful head

General

What do we have here? The folks over at xda-developers have posted the above picture; an HTC Android phone purportedly named “Knight.” The phone rocks a 3.7-inch screen, akin to the Nexus One, and resembles a smaller EVO 4G with its four rounded soft-keys. The site’s source was unsure about an exact release date but does expect an official announcement “soon.” According to XDA, the phone sports a “hinge” of some sort; whether it’s a slide-out QWERTY, or a HTC Surround-esque speaker, remains to be seen. What are your thoughts on the 3.7-inch screen?

I’m really starting to think that your are either a 15 yr old girl or a 40s something divorced man with down syndrome. Most of your posts make absolutely no sense, and they more than just ramble on. You’re obvisiouly non intelligent and have some sort of grudge against android. ( possibly because you got stuck in a shitty contract with AT&T for the iPhone and now wish you had something better, possible a better carrier)

      Grow up or GTFO

      • BrianW

Btw – if you are a 15 year old girl, please see norm.

lol you got a hero didnt you. 1st of all WinMo has always been a POS when it comes to touch screens, matter of fact it has always been a POS. And webOS lasted maybe a couple of months before everyone forgot about it because it could not adapt, similar to blackberry only they did not give it as much time.

Haha those were my thoughts exactly on reading his post … because I too bought a Hero when they first came out.

Looks like a non 4G evo like the transform is basically a non-4G epic…. Hmmm instead of making the same phones over and over with different names; maybe put out something fresh? Perhaps release a kickass smartphone geared toward the ladies let’s say in pink or purple with a 3.7 or 4in screen. Durable metallic finish, not plastic like an intercept Light and slim like an iPhone. 5/8MP camera with flash. Comes with one interchangeable backplate like VZW does with some multimedia phones.

    • Mobime

the transform is not a non 4g epic, its the update to the Samsung Moment.
lol just buy a case, if you want a little android phone get the Aria, you will have to switch to ATT or maybe even the taylor swift X10. You cant have everything, but the Evo does have interchangeable backs… check amazon. Dont just be cheap and expect them to give you everything.

      • Sburme02

no samsung intercept is the update for the moment
Transform is a now 4g epic

      • Sburme02

        non*

    • TanK203

      There’s your 15 year old girl…

  • Smitty

    Typical HTC design.

  • hackman

I am so sick of the HTC way of thinking. This phone is ugly and looks like a tilt 1 2 3 4 5. Come up with something else

    • Plan B

Its basically a screen and some buttons… what more do you expect/want said device to look/do?!

  • zo

Lol HTC is making the same phones over and over because phones are coming out to fast!

    • BD

You mean as opposed to iphones which are basically the exact same phone (design, specs, everything) that comes out once a year? Im not sure what new design people are clamoring for?

      • th3n0rthsid3

I know one reason a lot of my colleagues stay with BlackBerry is their design. They’ve made many great designs over the years that work great using just one hand (candybar, slideout qwerty, flip qwerty, etc). Android needs a more diverse design selection here to win over the large BlackBerry market (give it a quick death rather than the current slow one).

    Too nice for AT&T.

  • TreyDiz

I have to make an addendum to say that the reason the other carriers are flooded with decently spec’d Android “Also rans” is because AT&T refuses to carry any decent Android phones so they get shoved into the other carrier’s already bloated Android lineups.

Samsung bent over backwards to get the Galaxy S series out to all carriers so it is the one exception.

The question was, thoughts on the 3.7 inch screen? I like it, don’t want any smaller or larger.

  • Fastwalking

honestly – how many of these types of phones do we need?

I wonder if this is going to be a worldphone since the merge is on verizon and ppl are saying that this is really the same phone redesigned for sprint

  • iRK

    yippee, another android phone.

  • R Farrah

    4″ would be better, IMHO.

  • Illyje

I Don’t like this phone either. I don’t like the design or size and I don’t like the fact that most phones coming out on sprint are not 4g. I was interested in the lg optimus s until I read it’s not 4g. I want a 4g phone by a decent company like lg or better yet Nokia. I love nokia phones, wish they made phones for sprint that are 4g. even palm, blackberry, motorola, or hitachi. if they made a 4g phone for a decent price with decent design and decent programs and options, I get one of those as well. Wishful thinking I guess, why don’t these companies do more research on what people want verses just copying what other companies are doing. My phone need no be the have all device. A Phone with communication tech only is what I’d like. A phone that has bluetooth, hard keyboard, full internet capable not mobile internet, 4g, and a face viewing camera for video calls is all that’s necessary for me to enjoy a Phone. I have a Zune, Canon Camera, and a Tom tom. it doesn’t need to be on my phone…

    • Chrisvaios

u sir are a complete idiot

  • Juskim

HTC needs to fire all of their phone designers. Ok let’s try this again….How about stop giving the U.S. crap and give us the hot phones that other countries are getting? Oh yeah we are technically, we get their left over plastic and materials. Ohhh my bad we should be grateful. I had the first HTC block phone (windows) way back when and now I have the EVO. I am a diva I need something sexy come on HTC….

  • DS

I want the 4.3 inch screen!!! This phone better not have a key board either!!! It makes the phone thicker than what it needs to be…

I pray HTC does fhuhck up the email app again like it did on the EVO. One of the reasons I returned the EVO after only 10 days 2 nights ago was because HTC decided to replace the stock Android email app with built in Exchange ActiveSync with it’s own email app with its interpretation of EAS. Not only to did HTC not replicate at the very least the full facility of the stock email app, but HTC’s implementation of EAS is practically useless for Hotmail. Nevertheless, I will be waiting until Summer 2011 for the return of webOS to Sprint.

    • StillSux

meant to say I pray HTC does NOT fhuhck up the email app again like it did on the EVO.
