T-Mobile's myTouch 4G ROM, video, spec-sheet leak

General

When a ROM for an unreleased handset leaks, sometimes the most valuable thing they contain are images and videos of the device, and the ROM for the myTouch 4G — coming to T-Mobile — is no different. The mT4G will be an HSPA+ handset that packs a 3.8-inch WVGA display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, rear-facing 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p video recording, front-facing camera, DLNA support, micro-SD card (support for 32GB card), and Android 2.2. The device will be preloaded with software titles Rock Band, Asphalt 5, and Monopoly and support: Wi-Fi calling, video calling, and T-Mobile TV. T-Mobile’s specification sheet says the device should be available in time for the holidays.Sounds like a pretty solid set. Hit the jump to check out a video that was included in the ROM and the full myTouch 4G spec sheet. Enjoy!

I am pretty sure this is on my shopping list.

I’m not sure how they can call it 4G when they don’t even have a full 3G network. Additionally HSPA+ is just fraudulent 4G like Wimax. VZW is bringing the first real 4G to America.

      uhhh…Sprint?

If I remember correctly the iPhone4G is not a 4g phone. Apple is not the only company allowed to call a phone 4g! BTW can you video call with a iPhone without WiFi? I do not think so. T-Mobile is starting to impact the market with better phones, more features, and handsets that are exceeding expectations. Way to go T-Mobile

Apple never called the iPhone 4 a 4G. And HSPA+ is not 4G.

However I agree that TMo’s line up has been pretty impressive.

T-Mobile has EVERY right calling their 21mbps this year 42mbps next year network 4G if Sprint and Verizon are calling their sub-100mbps networks 4G as well! Such hypocrites I swear! Especially since T-Mobile 4G is faster than Sprint 4G/Verizon 4G.

      • javierE186

I totally agree at you dude and they might have called the phone 4G but that is because of their “4G like speeds”. Now all you hypocrites and haters use whatever you guys might call a brain and think of which sounds better myTouch 4G or myTouch 4G like speeds? Maybe that is way it is called the myTouch 4G because it sounds better.

I was incorrect it is called the iPhone 4, it is the unknowing consumer calling it 4G like this one:

with that being said it still is slow internet and can not video call WITHOUT using a Wi-Fi.

As far as Sprint is concerned with a 4g network and phones, don’t get me started… lol

I would kill for a copy of Monopoly on my G2.

And it comes with the EXPRESSO UI! yeah baby! yeah! getting the whole family one of these bad boys!

Ima be honest…I had a MT3G and I liked the phone a lot. The hardware, the software (OBviously, vanilla ftw).

But this hardware and software coupled looks really terrible IMO… What’s with the rounded squares around the icons? Not everyone wants to own an iPhone wannabe…

  • Ron

TMo is making it hard for me to decide what my next phone is going to be. Stuck between this, the new G2 or waiting patiently for them to release the Desire HD (a big iffff)

  • Marco

I wouldn’t call this phone a iphone 4 wannabe cause it certainly isn’t. And thank god it ain’t. I’ve seen multiple spec sheets and not all seem to be similar but they all mention video chat on 3G and hspa+ or wifi (iphone 4 can’t use their network) another it supports adobe flash 10.1(iphone 4 doesn’t support flash “still”) I believe the mytouch is wifi hotspot enabled(iphone 4 can’t) and many other features that the iphone 4 CAN’T. Mytouch will be competing with other highend phones

I played with it at my local store today. They had just got it. I thought that it felt really solid in my hand. I also felt that it was very responsive and snappy while I was playing with it. I was trying to decide whether I got this or the Defy. I like the Defy because I like to spend time in the snow and I am pretty hard on my phones ( drop them every once in a while). After playing with the new My Touch I think I might replace my Nexus One with it. I was worried about the amount of rom on the phone, but after playing with it I figure that it has about 1.5gigs. The only other thing that will hold me back from getting it when it launches is that I want to make sure it doesn’t have any sort of anti-root protection like the G2. Overall it seems like a really nice phone.
