Hopefully he can do what he did for T-Mobile USA what he did for T-Mobile Germany. Okay, maybe not necessarily make it the number one carrier, but at least turn things around for the better. Ultimately, T-Mobile really REALLY just needs to market itself much, MUCH more than it is already.

He also is responsible for the successful iPhone launch in 2007. Hmmm? Coincidence, good timing or both?

T-Mobile will never be a power house. They hire horrible execs who come from boarders books? That would be great if they were selling leather bound books. They hire horrible management in their stores who come from Foot Locker, again great if they were pushing Jordans. And their business sales force? I’m pretty sure they lack that in 90% of the country. They are floating around until someone steps in and makes a good offer. Leave the bargain basement wireless plans to Wal Mart. Get a real sales force.

      Not quite.

      This guy is a mover/shaker.

Already out the gate he is putting out new advertisements highlighting T-Mobile’s HSPA + network strengths and is going to do a huge campaign to beef up their Business Clientele.

He has some real cool aces up his sleeve.

It’s not as easy when you don’t own the wired infrastructure and when your larger US competitors overcharge you for roaming and network sharing.

This guy spearheaded the movement that created largest wireless provider in parts of Europe and I wouldn’t put it past him to make a dent here in the US. I forsee a buyout of spectrum from the likes of Clear and a super fast LTE network in the works to compete with the larger more established carriers.

As a global wireless provider with well over 153 million subscribers DT is not a small guy by any means.

Some of the most successful companies have emerged by hiring executives from other industries, it’s not about what your selling, it’s about how much you sell.

One more nail in t-mobile USA’s coffin.. who made choose a technical guy to sale phones ? T-Mobile seriously needs some coolness and good phones.. not False 4G advertising using their HSPA+ network.. 4G = 100 MBps.. I am sorry, which market of T-Mo supports even 1/4 of it ?
