    Sweet FroYo… YUM…

  • MacMan

I never thought I would see it. Way to go samchung.

  • Matt

Fantastic! Thanks to Samsung for making my friday even better :)

  • thehotbreadguy

Anyone seeing it rolled out yet?

  • Allen Walker

This concerns me. The “Nordic region” gets it first and North America is almost last on the list? Samsung needs to get their priorities straight.

USA now, then worry about everyone else later if you feel like it.

    • Stromson

Lots of people outside the USA, Allen; we aren’t the center of the world. I’m assuming they’re using the Nordic nations as pseudo test bed to see how their servers handle the load before rolling it out to larger populations. Unless you’re running a Euro unlocked, we’re still tethered to Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, etc actually bothering to be remotely timely about pushing it out.

  • debbie barnes

Still no inkling of when it’ll be in the US

  • serpentor

Sammy, wake me up when you have an actual release date.

  • mobile

i skimmed down the site really quickly, saw the phone, and thought.. did Apple make a new phone?…
    looks like a 4 rip off… smh

    • Vinid

Yes a black phone with a touch screen it must be an iphone wow your so dumb

      • Brt

Why is he dumb? It looks exactly like the iphone! Look at the UI, are you people blind?

      • VZWer

agreed and I work for VZW so I am hardly biased.

      • Jack

Yes, just like the iPhone… but with a 4″ screen, incredibly vibrant superAMOLED screen, and an open source OS that is updated and improved constantly. Not so much like the iPhone after all!

      • Smh

Yea cuz the iPhone is better.

  • mykie

Press release site is down for me. Anyone else?

  • Stromson

Why do I get the feeling “gradually rolled out” means “early 2011″ for NAM users?

  • Voice Of Experience

They can give it a gummy bears and sprinkles on top of the Froyo and it still won’t save it from the fact that it’s a Samsung.

In other words, don’t believe a word they say.

And if you are dumb enough to believe what they say, it’s ok. Your phone will have stopped working long before Froyo gets to you.

    • MrBill

You sound like Macman, go figure.

      • Voice Of Experience

        Beeeeep! Wrong!

I’m not Macman and I’ve never owned an Apple Product in my life.

Voice of Experience has owned Samsung Devices though. And if my word is not good enough, just remember what Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols was once quoted as saying.

….”Never trust a junkie or Samsung”

      • MrBill

Please Note, I did say “Sound Like”.
HTC and others have released bum units and have dropped updates altogether on some units.

This is not exclusive to Samsung, or samchung as macman says in “Every” Samsung post. He has earned a reputation an deservedly so.

It could be LG whom is several steps below them but you never hear it, its a personal grudge by some as noted an witnessed on the site..

Only company out there that doesn’t screw up an make mistakes it one that never does anything in the first place.

  • Jason Lackey

So, what are the odds of working GPS being included with this update?

    • rockinfigs

not going to happen..according to samsung they tried to fix it once in the update and look what happened..it didnt work..samsung has no clue on how to fix the gps so we just have to dealwith it

      • Electrofreak

Works fine on my Epic 4G. After the update GPS has been fast and dead-on accurate.

    • Seabass

It’s fixed works really fast on my 2.2 Captivate. :)

  • JR

Which means that our U.S. versions probably won’t get until the holidays

    • Daves Not Here

      What a crock!

Samsung has no problems rolling out updates for it’s own Kimchi OS, but the rest of us have to twist in the wind.

They do make great TV’s though.

  • Justin Case

Since Samsung might actually get around to the update by the 4th Of July of next year, why don’t they try updating Aaron Rodgers playing status for Week 6 in the meantime.

  • http://www.careace.net CareAce.net

Hey we just wrote a guide on how to update your GT-i9000 device right now regardless of country, through a registry hack with Kies. Check it out here ht tp : // bit . ly / bNP jMJ

  • Freak

Ye ye, update available via KIES – maybe Samsung tell me first how to install this sh….y software on my PC?

  • Seabass
