Jailbreaking solution greenpois0n due out 10/10/10 at 10:10:10

General

If you have iOS 4.1, and are anxiously waiting to get your jailbreak on, Sunday may be the day. According to the above tweet by p0sixninja, the jailbreaking solution many have been waiting for should be delivered this Sunday, several hours before the NFL’s 1:00 PM kickoff. There isn’t really much else to say about it. Anyone interested?

    Nope

You don’t need jailbreaking with DROID. Every DROID comes with a great OS that doesnt need any tinkering.

Check your google adsense. They just put money in their for kissing there a**

is that why people root them?

    • superchunk

lol, I love droid and all, but seriously? I’m just waiting for my Froyo, them I’m rooting and removing Verizon/MS from the phone.

    • Jezz (like jizz but with an ‘e’)

I like iOS and I like Android, but one of the biggest advantages of Android is the tinkering, man. Ever visit xda forums or Android Central?

    • Gambit

Have you never heard of rooting?

  • Al

    just jailbreak? no unlock?

    • davisbs999

No unlock, but (as reported yesterday) it looks like it will have Hacktivation–which is a positive step towards a unlock

great i can finally go to 4.1 and get to try some HDR photos

Norm: I have Android, and don’t fool yourself. Everyone I know with a DROID are rooting it so they can overclock it to keep up with other devices such as the iPhone, and put on custom ROMs that run more efficiently. Also, they are rooting it so they can uninstall the Verizon bloatware, and do fun stuff like run Autokill, so the OS doesn’t bog down, and Wi-Fi Teathering, to share their internet. As for Jailbreaking, my iPhone4 4.1 does everything I need without the Jailbreak. More stable than the 3GS I had Jailbroken. Besides, 4.2 will be out soon, and the process will start all over again (just as it does every time a new flavor of Android comes out). It’s a cycle in every community. :)

LOOOOOL oh my goodness. That was the absolute worst trolling I have ever seen on the internet – ever! Damn! I like Android and I like iOS both, but sorry sugar, Droid owners overclock their Droids simply to overclock them and because they are nerds who want to tweak their devices (which is why they don’t use iPhone, which gives you no customization so as not to confuse old grandparents’ minds and tween’s minds). They aren’t trying to “keep up” with iPhone’s lmfao. They do use custom ROMS, but it’s again the case where they are just super nerdy and love to tinker with their shit, which Android allows you to do easily. You can build your own ROM and run it on your phone, creating an entirely new experience. I’ll give you “Autokill”, although you don’t need to be rooted to run that (where did you get that idea?) and that they remove the bloatware from the carriers, but I shouldn’t even give you the bloatware removal thing because you have to remove that on ANY phone from any carrier…how is that Android-specific?

Now that I think about it….what in your comment is actually correct information? :-o Maybe the very last two sentences? Though, that’s an opinion.

      • WalterSobchak

        That’s harsh dude.

      • Jezz (like jizz but with an ‘e’)

I’ve re-read it over and over and keep failing to find the part that is seeming to offend everybody. Is it the grandparents’ and tweens’ mind confusion thing? I wasn’t saying iPhones are only for that demographic. I was just saying that is part of the iOS appeal (for that demographic) – let’s face it, that demographic is easily confused by technology, right? So, obviously, this is a huge BENEFIT of iOS over Android – iOS can be easily used by billions of people all over the world, regardless of demographic.

If that wasn’t what has somehow offended everybody that reads BGR, I don’t know what it was…the rest was just me pointing out all of that guy’s incorrect information and laughing at him for trying to sound big, tough and smart about it. As I said three times now, I like both iOS and the Google Android platforms. In fact, WebOS is really cool as well! Haven’t tried Symbian or WM7 yet (but I love my Zune so I may try WM7 soon).

I think it’s pretty obvious what’s really going on here…everyone on BGR just hits the minus button to everyone on every post. I mean, anyone that reads this site for awhile will know that.

      • javierE186

The problem is that, you sir are a troll xD

      • Jezz (like jizz but with an ‘e’)

Hahaha yeah, replying to a troll and showing him how he was telling lies definitely makes me a troll myself. Nice logic :D

Look I’m sorry that I indirectly hurt your feelings. Would a group hug be okay?

      • Ag

The reason i voted you down sir, its because of javier said!! TROLL

  • http://mobilemogulreport.blogspot.com/ Justin

    Nice, been waiting for this.

    • davisbs999

Yes! yes! yes! I didn’t know how much I love JB’ing until I upgraded from a wifi to a 3g iPad and have been stuck with 3.2.2. All the people who have complained about how long it’s taken and how it will likely be tethered should go without for being haters

  • Robes

Why do Android fans even come to this site? Go buy some lube for your robot! Android wins the ugliest interface hands down!! If Web OS had any kind of decent hardware even be mentioning Android other than Star Wars fans. Big screens, 8 megapixel cameras, and fast processors are what most people want so you can thank Motorola and HTC for Androids success. Not Google. Oh yeah. Let’s not forget SUPERB marketing. I’ll give you that. But that’s not done by Google either. Google just threw some cash at the right people. Android phones are like castles with garbage all over the floor on the inside.

    • superchunk

lol, if AndroidOs is so ugly, why are there quite a few apps in the apple store to make your iPhone look like an Android?

      • Mael

I could’ve sworn it was the other way around.

      • Ag

Huh??? Would you care to mention some of the them? Troll

    • Jezz (like jizz but with an ‘e’)

“Why do Android fans even come to this site?”

Are you serious? It’s Boy Genius, not TIPB. Boy Genius posts about everything, which is why it is the most known for trollers, haters, and the stupidest comments ever posted online, only outbeaten by the likes of 4chan’s /b/. It sucks, but it’s what you have to deal with when you post about every carrier and every carrier’s new gadgets.

    • WalterSobchak

First of all, I come to this site because it reports on a fair amount of android news, also my robot does not use lube he raw dogs it pilgrim style!

      • javierE186

        lmfao awesome

    • davisbs999

“Why do Android fans even come to this site?”
Oh I dunno, could it be because BGR has a section labeled “Android”?

  • mwrg

I take it that this is not the hardware exploit?

  • RonN

Yes, this jailbreak will be utilizing the shatter hardware exploit, can’t wait!

  • Android

    meh

  • carlos iraheta

Ok so if android is so ugly and unliked then y would apple fan boys go and put so much effort to be able to dual boot android???? Hmmm seems like android devs have more important things to do then to put some simpleton os like ios on an android device. Apple = epic fail. :-)

  • sirpaul

Thanks for staying on top of Jailbreak updates as well, BG/Andrew :) Having to constantly check a number of sites weekly would be a real pain. Thank you for doing it for us!

  • http://burlapmonkey.com Mike

Good for iPhone 4, iPod touch 4th Gen, iPad, and Apple TV 2nd Gen. iPhone 3GS/3G models don’t get the love…

  • brian

Yawn. My Evo has been rooted for months and had iOS 4 beat before I started tweaking the system. Check the benchmarks kids, Froyo is king.

    • Baldilocks

I have Froyo on my Desire and it’s noticeably slower, laggier than my iPhone 4.
Nothing is as smooth as the iOS. Android has a long way to go yet. Just no getting past that FACT.

  • LCW

this would be awesome if true!!! getting a little tired of 4.0.1…

  • steel36

You know what’s exciting? Devices that are fully operational upon purchase.

  • Ricotibiri

bigger screen iphone 4 coming soon mothafucka weeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • Ronburg

Let’s not forget everyone, if it wasn’t for apple re inventig the cell phone, you wouldn’t have your android devices

  • Alinem

    Merciiiiii bq pour l’info
