WSJ: Apple to begin mass producing iPhone for Verizon Wireless by end of 2010

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple plans to begin mass producing the iPhone for CDMA carrier Verizon Wireless before the end of 2010. “Apple Inc. plans to begin mass producing a new iPhone by the end of 2010 that would allow Verizon Wireless to sell the smartphone early next year, said people briefed by Apple,” writes the WSJ. Apple, Qualcomm, and Verizon have all declined to comment on the report. The paper goes on to say that the phone would be available from Verizon Wireless in Q1 of 2011.

    What I love is that WGN news reported this rumor as truth, not as a WSJ rumor, but as if Steve Jobs himself proclaimed it so. WTF Tribune Co? No wonder you’re going bankrupt.

    They have been coming with this rumor for years. As soon as any VZW/iPhone rumors die down, they come back with this same tired story. I’ll believe it when I see it.

    Well rumor is a rumor and saying “i’ll believe it when i see it” makes sense therefore this will be something and i mean SOMETHING. Definitely looking forward to it

    AT&T Iphone commercials have disappeared off the airwaves in Northern NH. For a while it seemed every time you had a commmercial it was for the Iphone. I have not seen an Iphone commercial in 2 months

    Gee…. imagine that in China CrApple has announced that they’ve been testing CDMA iPhones 4 on China Telecom for several months and will begin production around that same time of them. They claimed to have scoured the planet Qualcom CDMA Radio supplies world wide and have promises on supply orders of 10million over the next year for CDMA iPhone 4′s on that carrier going on sale at that exact same time! …..so who are they lying to? China Telecom about to top Verizon as the Top CDMA carrier expected to expand to 100million users by 2012 or Verizon only expected to 90million by then? haha…. No doubt those phones are destined for the Chinese where they aren’t expected to kill CDMA like Verizon is with LTE! lol…. ^_*

    it all depends on how vzw does with ipad sales, we are the only wireless carrier that offers the ipad for sale other than apple. if sales are good vzw 4g iphone could be possible!!
