Customer Benefits

The Pantech Laser, an ultra-slim and stylish quick messaging phone that features a vibrant 3.1″ AMOLED touchscreen and a full sliding QWERTY keyboard, allows for access to email, social networking and messaging. From the touchscreen, users can activate Drawing Commander, a feature that allows for calls to be made, messages to be opened or favorite apps to be accessed by simply tracing a shape with a finger. Laser further prioritizes the personal experience by allowing voice memos to be recorded on the Voice Memo app and shared via text, or the 3MP camera to be used for updating social media statuses with pictures and videos. Pantech’s latest quick messaging phone proves that functionality doesn’t have to be sacrificed for a thin phone.

In addition, the Pantech Laser boasts:

This should be a free phone.

      Agreed

This is better than any entry level Android but with limited function. I don’t get where feature phones like this fit in anymore at that price point, considering data costs the same (thats required on this handset!) but you get to do less with it. Might as well get a more capable device.

      totally agree…good call junk

I love Pantech, they make the best quick messaging phones out there, this thing looks nice…I just got a Pantech phone from Fedex for my mother right now.

That’s pretty impressive that they managed to put a full sliding keyboard on an ~10mm-thick frame. I can’t wait for smartphones to catch up to this…

    • sirpaul

Smart phones aren’t “catching up”. That’s like saying phones need to catch up to paper in terms of thinness before they can compete. You can’t compare size of phones with such different levels of functionality.

      • Jeremiah

Don’t be pedantic. You know what I mean. If I want to dream about having a top-of-the-line super-smartphone that is <10mm, let me.

I didn't say anything remotely close to implying that some smartphones aren't competing because they're thick and heavy. I've got the G2, and while it's not that thick, I certainly wouldn't mind it to be even thinner. And it's certainly a hefty porker.

I will say one thing, I owned a Helio Ocean (made by Pantech) and it was a cool little phone (at the time…)

Loved the slide mechanism on that thing. A satisfying click.

Should’ve called it the LAZR (yes, I’m referencing the old Motorola RAZR ha)

    @techjunkie
Att doesn’t require data on a phone like this. You’re required to have unl messaging or a combination of data and messaging that equals $20. And data on a phone like this is $10 if u have messaging already.
Att will charge $99 for this phone but radioshack and best buy will probably sell it for $50.
It’s an ok looking phone for it being pantech

Come on AT&T when are we going to see a comparable device to the evo or droid x with a 4.3 inch screen android 2.2 ?

    • jdubb

Well from the way it seems, never, because AT&T seems to love pulling the carpet out of all Android phones and crippling the goodness out of them. AT&T is so full of it. Rip off prices with an inferior network. Everyone knows if it wasn’t for the success of the iPhone, AT&T would be nowhere.

I just bought a laser and it is probably the best phone i have ever purchased…

  • Pixelstudioz

Pantech devices are cheap and serve only that purpose.. They cater to those who want the cheapest option that can make a call. No extended features..As a company, word is that they have some serious financial issues..may not be around much longer??
