Wow… those are some HIGH prices…

why do people still go w/ Verizon if their prices are so high…

    • Mgl323

Some people have spare money to give away.

  • Android

Nice! As long as these data plans hold for the Samsung Galaxy Tab, coming out very soon, I’m in!

  • Ricotibiri

    bout fucking time.

“$0.02/KB in more than 200 other destinations.”

    That would be $20/MB. Yikes!

    • Chapel

      is that .02 cents or .02 dollars…
you realize there’s a difference right?
      ;)

      • Zachary Silverman

        No, it’s $0.02, which is two cents…

      • jdubb

        You are an idiot.

      • jdubb

        That was to Chapel, people.

  • techjunkieforlife

Oh my did they not hear about Xcom Global and their unlimited MyFi offerings? Same daily use cost with unlimited international data use.

  • Jack Bower

Wow. Consumer robbery at it’s best!

  • Dave

    $39.99/month for 250MB?
I pay less than that for my phone contract and that includes minutes, texts (no idea how many because I never go over the limit) and 500MB a month. And I can wirelessly tether it. This is in the UK though. US pricing seems crazy by comparison.

    • bringit

US pricing is getting out of hand. I am tempted to cancel my plan and just go wifi and use Google Voice or Line 2 for my phone.

  • Fernando

Verizon doing what it does best, overcharging for same service you could get else where. I wonder if these prices are a sign of things to come, remember verizon talking about tiered data plans and that they value data on their network differently than AT&T?

The high price is for global roaming.

  • matthew

the high price is for global roaming, well what if you dont need it for other countries just in the U.S. this is such a rip off, these telecom companies are way to greedy, and this is only 3G speed too

  • Andy

Just like Dave M said the high price is for global roaming. The other comapnies charge alot for roaming on their network, its not VZW picking the prices…

    • Berry

most people only need domestic; there is no logical explanation between 250 MB and 5GB price difference, pure rip-off.

I’m a VZN customer and I appreciate their coverage, but I’ll go for data plan with someone else and get 4G for less.

  • matthew

These telecom companies are way to greedy these days, and are so out of touch with their customers

    • Mike

      Supply and Demand.

  • Scott

so charging what they deem is appropriate is being “out of touch” with their customers? Last I checked, they are offering a service, if you don’t want it don’t buy it. And stop bitching.

  • Androidian

Verizon & their stupid high prices can go to HELL

  • drew dogg

$59.99… same as att n Sprint. Cricket which is slow as fu*? Is $20 cheaper. Y is everyone bit%$ about high prices? Those are global rates…. I grantee none of u little kids on this website even travel globally. N if u had to travel so much ud probably be rolling in dough so u would oay what ud have to ta make ur business money.

  • rctennis

WCDMA 850/1900!?! So theoretically, this could roam on Bell/Telus/Rogers and their HSPA+ networks in Canada! That’s pretty good for me!

  • Killah Kyle

    Lol @ Verizon Prices.

  • GarryTheWolf

yeah,… I’ve tried to use one of those “international’ data plan on my BB Tour from VzW… And It’s been shocking experience !!! The bill was GIGANTIC (we talking $1000+)… and it’s been just a regular usage of my BB as I use it here in US…
for you guys up there, who’s planing to use this money sucker – you’ve gotta think twice ! :)

  • Zachary Silverman

Since I don’t travel internationally much anymore, and I can turn my rooted Droid into a Wi-Fi hotspot, and am already paying $30 a month for data, is there any reason I should buy this?

  • Twelve

    Did I do this wrong?
“$39.99 monthly access for 250 MB monthly allowance and $0.10/MB overage”

So it costs 16 cents per MB, but overage is only 10 cents? ($39.99/250 = .1599)

When the 5 GB plan is only $.011 per MB?
    ($59.99 / (1024*5) = $.0117)

  • jdubb

Prices are absolutely ridiculous. So glad I’m on Sprint and getting my sweet ass 27% monthly discount. I liked Verizon but lately they are turning into real greed monsters. I’m glad I was no longer on a family plan and it forced me to look for another carrier, or else I’d still be with those lunatics.

XCom Global has unlimited international plans for only $14.95/day…

    Also, great review on Engadget…
