LG cans Android 2.2 tablet plans

Reuters is reporting that Korean electronics manufacturer LG will postpone their plans to launch an Android based tablet due to reliability concerns with Google’s mobile OS. “We plan to introduce a tablet that runs on the most reliable Android version … We are in talks with Google to decide on the most suitable version for our tablet and that is not Froyo 2.2,” said an anonymous LG official. Reuters’ source went on to say that LG has yet to finalize the timing for its Android tablet play. Once thing seems certain, the Android tablet party will be fairly crowded by the time LG arrives.

    Unless the experience is going to be radically different from the smart phone version of the OS, I think any tablet running Android OS is a waste. Apple is lucky they’re a multimedia powerhouse, other wise the iPad would also be a pointless product [for the consumer space at least].

    Hopefully newer versions of these tablets fixes their issue for actually implementing an OS that’s more tablet than phone….

      I’d say… unless you’ve actually used an Android tablet, hold off on passing judgement. I dismissed the iPad at first, as an oversize iPhone. Sure, that still is the case but my mind changed 180 degrees once picking one up. Been using it for a month. There’s more to the thing than meets the eye. So let’s not bash something that you, me nor the general public has even used it on a wide scale.

    If a major electronic company like LG has determined that Android is a POS on a tablet why would anyone let some Geek try to change their mind? It is not some Droidboy’s money you are loosing if you unwisely jump onto an Android tablet, is it?

    HP has canceled all its plans for an Android tablet too.

    These companies have a lot to loose as opposed to some bottom feeding Chinese junk manufacturer. China is the same country where they soak dead cats in Goat urine and then sell them butchered and cooked on the street as Goat meat.

    China will make and sell you anything, including Android devices and insist that the user experience is good as with an Apple product.

    Is that what you really want?
