Bloomberg: Verizon Wireless will not carry Windows Phone 7 devices at launch

Breaking

Here’s a confusing one for you. Bloomberg is reporting that Verizon Wireless will not offer a Windows Phone 7 device when the platform is launched later this year. This information comes from Verizon spokesperson Brenda Raney who told Bloomberg that her company will probably release a WP7 device sometime in 2011. While it is a bit shocking that Verizon will be missing out on all the Windows Phone 7 launch fun, Ms. Raney did insist that her company’s relationship with Microsoft is “solid.” Anyone out there disappointed by this news?

Hey guys, I know someone who wrote a blog entry on why Verizon sucks and I thought this article here is a clear reflection on that. Check it out if you want to: http://www.newsyo.com/archives/323

That someone is you, and you brought up points that no one cares about. What a terrible “article”.

Grow up and learn how to write.

Agree with Mitch. What a childish and scornful article which YOU wrote. You porbably get paid from those adverts on the page and want to get as many hits as possible.
You don’t know anything about why companies make business decisions. Profitability is foremost but a fair relationship with a business partner is just as important.
Verizon has always maintiained that a phone is only as good as the network it is on. Verizon is a service provider and the network is its top priority.
Apple is not the easiest company to be partner with, and Verizon was not willing to bend over backwards like AT&T. How is it Verizon’s fault that iPhone is not on Verizon. Sprint and T-Mobile also do not carry it. The common denominator is Apple. But for you fanboy, they can do no worng.

You love your iPhone, I can tell. I can also tell that right now, you don’t have a signal, so you went ahead and wrote an article that quickly turned into a rant.

Before posting a link to an “article,” make sure it is written by someone who is objective and has a point.

I am not sure that rant qualified as an “article,” but I can say that the peon who wrote it has no education and no background in business.

I am absolutely sure you are a person who is eaten alive in the professional world. Education is power, and you sir, have no power.

Are you too lazy to compare coverage maps? It is a known fact that tmobile has the least coverage. Check it out.

Glad I’m not with VZW. M$ finally wised up with WP7. Finally, phones with Xbox Live support. If the games are good WP7 will sell easily.

    • Mitch

Yep, it will sell to children and adults who haven’t grown up.

A VERY small percentage of the population cares about games on phones.

      • Joe

Yeah, I guess thats probably why everyone wants an iPhone, since there are so many other capabilities besides gaming that the iPhone does better than Android… oh wait, theres not? Hmmm…

Well I’m proud to say that I do care very much so about WP7 and Verizon Wireless. I’m 23 years old with a very professional job, as well as very consistent in the social networking scene. Probably the last thing that I care about on the WP7 is the fact that they integrated Xbox Live, but the fact is this. Verizon as a network is very competitive. They have a very strong market. Windows (obviously) also has a very strong market. I was extremely happy to see Windows re-doing their entire operating system. It appeals to ANY class and ANY age. It has the fun, music, a relatively good camera, as well as an amazing set-up for the work-aholics out there. I’m very disappointed they will not be starting out with Verizon this holiday season, as I have been looking forward to this for about a year now. I’m sure they have their reasons, but they may be losing a customer. As for Apple, keep doing what you are doing. obviously it’s working for you. And this article is about Verizon anyway. So I’m not exactly sure why anyone is bashing or talking on be-half of them on here. I wish I had a WP7 to play with in person. Judging off of the hardware alone, it will be an amazing device.
