T-Mobile G2 will be available at RadioShack for $149

General

If you’re planning to pick up a G2 from T-Mobile, listen up. RadioShack has used Twitter to let you know they will be carrying the G-Deuce for $149.99 — a full $50 less than T-Mobile — with a 2-year contract. The G2 will sport a MSM7230 Snapdragon processor running at 800 MHz, 5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and 720p video recording, 4 GB internal memory, 8 GB micro-SD card preinstalled, and dedicated quick-keys. The handset will also run an un-skinned, unmolested version of Android 2.2. Any takers?

Yes, support a carrier looking to cripple an open OS and destroy Googles idea of freedom at your expense. It’s such a great feeling to know you support this. It’s like following Hitler, he’s giving you so much, and you’re frolicking in what you have now. When you’re truly supporting a dictating monster who only cares about taking over.

      Completely useless…

  • Mgl

Nope. Still happy with my 3gs.

    • Killah Kyle

Why don’t you get married to the damn phone. It’s not that great.

I love comments like this. Oh how ppl forget the handset crapland vzw was before Droids and they have T-Mobile to thank for developing it too!

      • Consumer

        Don’t take the bait.

    • tmo

The guards at your jail will wake you up Mr ex ATT Janitor … Ha ha ha

    • Killah Kyle

How about you don’t wake up so we don’t have to deal with you?

  • bob

Awesome, I wonder how much it is out of contract, I’m on the “bring your own phone” plan (cheaper after 2 years). I’m glad we get a serious android phone with a full KB.

  • MacMan

I have no idea why people get excited about this phone ? There is so many other phones that are so much better or oh wait nevermind it’s on tmobile. They really have a bad selection of phones over there.

    • tmo

Tell me which one does 15MB+ download ??. Stupid

      • MacMan

Have to see it to believe it. Jackass

Are they going to remove Google search and force us to use Bing like Verizon does.

I hope T-Mobile doesn’t start raping our Androids too.

Looks like Verizon is going back to their old phone crippling raping ways if the Fascinate is any indication.

They only opened up because they were afraid of the iPhone. Now that they’ve had mild success with Android it’s time to lock it back down before customers start getting smart again.

Wish I could get an Epic for that….

Why I want the g2? I love the way it looks, has a nice QWERTY keyboard, HSPA+, vanilla android, and its made by HTC I love this phone and I WILL NOT SWITCH TO ANOTHER CARRIER for a cell phone…I don’t understand carrier hoppers…and even after seeing the mytouch hd I still want the g2 its a very attractive device! And its gonna be solid :)

Excuse my ignorance but I thought “The Shack” wen’t belly up years ago! LOL

Been a long time since I’ve been inside one, but are their stores still full of cheap stereos and remote control toys?

Last time I checked, I’d have to pay $52.00 per month more for the same plan I get with TMO’s loyalty plan. I can wifi hotspot or tether with my Nexus One at no additional charge, and web browsing is reasonably fast, but certainly slower than LAN. Customer service has always been great which is why I stuck with them since 2004. I want a real keyboard and this looks very professional, and sounds like it has more than enough power and memory. I’ll wait to see the in depth reviews, but I have Froyo and other than the N1s damn touch screen and keyboard crazyness, Froyo is outstanding. I could care less about FFC, or any kind of UI over the OS.

an extra $52 a month? jesus.. stay with your plan and buy it at full price. its $350 more than buying it with a plan so that means you’ll pay the difference in 7 months where if you got the plan you’d be paying an extra 52 for 24 months or $1248 plus the $150 you lay out up front. sheeet… you could buy two and it would still be cheaper.

as for the Shack….apparently you didn’t see Lance Armstrong’s team in the Tour de France this year. The Shack is their primary sponsor.

How would you know how great a phone is or not if you have not actually used it to test peformance and check all of its features??? All anyone has seen are pics and specs. Smh.

  • Stephanie

Oh my comment was for all the negative nancys that keep posting. The phone looks nice to me. I will admit the very first pic of the G2 I saw was unappealing to me but that was while the phone was still in the making I guess and it was just a test model. Im hoping that it will have a decent battery life which is a big deal for me because being that Im at work for 10 hours I hate having to charge my Cliq mid shift. Smh

    • Akshay

people there is some misinformation provided in this article about the phone’s specs. The phone will have a qualcomm processor 800mhz not snapdragon… pls check it out on HTC’s website… thanks

  • CRR

Plus this is based off of 2nd generation boards. newer gpu on die, and uses the smaller architecture with the newest v7 instructions. should be awesome… great battery and great performance. it’s a win win
