Sprint adds Sanyo Innuendo to feature phone lineup

General

It looks like Sprint is adding the Sanyo Innuendo to its feature phone lineup. The Innuendo, like the Incognito, is a horizontal-flip, full-QWERTY keyboard device with a “concealed external dial pad that glows through the phone’s luxurious mirrored finish and then disappears when not in use.” The device has a 2.8-inch internal display, 1.3-inch OLED external display, 3.2 megapixel camera that can also take video, GPS navigation, proximity sensor, and micro-SD card slot. The device is $49.99 with a 2-year contract or $249.99 at full retail.

This is the phone Sprint wants you to do all your sexting from.

  • RottenApple

That phone is horrible. They should have called it menudo.

    • F1

Care to explain why it is horrible?

I n a World of $$600-800 E.P. only contract Smartphones, I consider, $250 for the full retail cost, is actually pretty reasonable, if you are in need of a new device without contractual complications!

      Thank You

This is a Boost Mobile Incognito that’s been out for 6 months. Its complete junk. I sell them, I know it’s junk.

    • jcan

sorry sir your wrong, go on sprint and compare the two, well actually every one should because if your selling these you should know there not the same happy selling buddy

      • AT&T

The incognito and the innuendo are about as different as a blackberry 8520 vs 8530. The keyboard is a little different on the innu, 99% the same phone with a new skin.
Either way, I wouldn’t carry this junk out the store if it were free with no contract.

You got to be kidding me. I honestly think many companies are loosing the will to compete, or just dont know how to; with the current market that is!

What flavor of Android is this thing running?

this is a game changer. U go sprint!!!

  • Jonathan

Ugh, why don’t they focus on getting the price of the Epic 4G and HTC EVO down to $150 to match the street price of T-Mobile’s equivalent G2. But we get this crap instead.

  • Sanyo Guy

All due respect, this is a great device for those who don’t want to make the move to Android just yet are looking for a good quality texting device. I have played with this phone and I got to say the Proximity Sensor in the front is an awesome enhancement over the Incognito. Also, in this form factor where can you find a 3.2 Mega Pixel Camera on Sprint for $49?! I know its not everyones phone but it does fit a need.

  • RGB

It’s a cool phone if all you do is call and text. Which 70% of the population still do, considering that they still own a dumbphone. And they probably don’t read BGR anyways :)

    • skyy_flyer

No, but many a parent who reads BGR may not mind this phone for their kids who don’t pay the phone bill let alone any additional add on’s such as internet. Overall though I agree with you and Sanyo Guy’s opinion.

  • slammer

I have to agree with skyy_flyer and RGB. Even though smartphone usage is climbing, there is still a good percentage of people that do not want an all inclusive powerhouse smartphone. I know several people that are in front of computers all day and do not wish to have all those amenities in their hand. Just talk and text. Thats all they wish. Offerings like this are not only practical, they are essential to many seeking an alternative from their everyday hassles of computer headaches.

      Dear John B.

I agree with your sentiments. I’m one of the people that you mentioned…I don’t have the type of job that requires one, besides my employers supplied the smart phone if I needed one.

Here’s another consideration…loss or theft. Replacing a smart phone is relatively expensive. Not to mention the price of plans required.

  • Wild Bill

If it matters, I had a Sanyo Stereo when I was in the 7th Grade.

It was no Pioneer but it wasn’t bad.

  • Big Rob

Maybe this will motivate LG to make an Env4

  • AT&T

The reason I say they are junk is because I’ve sold the incognito boost phone for 6 months and I’ve had a return rate of 3 in 5 because the screens stop working, the buttons stop responding, the hinges literally fall apart, the touch on the outside either stops working or the backlight goes out.
If you get this phone. Add insurance is all I can recommend.

  • Skottikins

While this phone is not a game changer, it doenst have to be. This is the Honda Accord of phones, while the Evo/Epic/Drioid of the Ferrari’s. And well, not everyone wants/needs to drive a Ferrari.

anyone else notice how the last few sanyo phones with sprint are all synonymous with the word disguise?
