BlackBerry Style 9670 demo videos leaked

General

If you are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the BlackBerry clamshell flip-phone — the 9670 Style — we have a little intel to hold you over. It looks as if three tutorial-style (pun intended) demo videos have made their way onto everyone’s favorite streaming video website YouTube. As previously reported, the Style will have a full-QWERTY keyboard, CDMA and Wi-Fi radios, GPS, 5 megapixel camera, 240 x 320 external display resolution, and  360 x 400 internal display resolution. The demo videos are of the home screen, zooming function, and external display functionality of the device. The three videos are waiting for you after the break, let us know what you think.

It’s not the most aesthetically pleasing phone in word, but flip-phones always fit in the pocket better than candybar phones.

Its really sad to see such a great company like RIM shoot themselves in the foot.

RIM disappoints. I mean, everything is just the same, and the same, and the same. I completely agree with others that RIM is still stuck in 2007. I think if RIM wants to be part of the competition, they need to step up their phones, software and apps. I can see why everyone is switching from BlackBerry to Android or iPhone. I had the BlackBerry 8300, 8900 and the 9700. I also jumped ship to iPhone. You know what they say, once you go mac, you’ll never go back ;)

This is def my next phone hopefully on Sprint. Not for everyone but for us clamshell people whats not to like? Apps, full qwerty wifi, good camera with flash! In the most comfortable to hold form factor when actually talking on the phone (Yes that’s still done lol). Anyway the closest Sprint has come is the Lotus but it lacks wifi apps and no camera flash. Cant wait for this. My Samsung Moment will be on Ebay for sure. This phone is looking better in recent pics too and bonus may also have touch capability on front. For all the haters trashing before its out ok so we get it that you do not like a flip but lots of people still do.

Well thats why we have choice right to each there own right. I understand people not wanting a flip. But not everyone needs a 5 inch touchscreen. The pics here look pretty good to me http://driphter.com/index.php?topic=1500.msg14427#msg14427

As a current BB user, is it sub par model releases like this that have turned me off to the company. In consumers rush to buy more powerful phones, BB sold millions of devices, and I remember tinking of how awesome the Curve was when I bought it.

Rather than keeping up with Palm/HP, Android, and iOS, Blackberry chose to sit back and reap the profits of their enterprise users, data plans and heavily subsidized phones. I don’t feel bad for BB at all and won’t when they are forced to sell the company and its massive, aging, slow servers. Hoepfully Microsoft can buy RIM or something and make themselves a more competitive and viable option to Android and iOS by Incorporating their IPs.

Blackberry’s main issue is BBOS 6. If more clutter is what you’re after, the home screen is there for you. Putting that onto a smaller screen flip is ludicrous. Performance is unpredictable at best on the high-end phones. When I swipe the touch pad immediately after unlocking the screen, there is a short delay – so I swipe again, it catches up, and I’m not where I wanted to be.

You’re not going to win over any iPhone or Android customers with 1GHz chips now are you?

there are only two types of phones, the BlackBerry and the wannabe berries :)
