Motorola DROID 2 has lowest smartphone return rate on Verizon Wireless?

Exclusive

On the fence about the Motorola DROID 2? Wondering if people are happy with the device? Well, we have been told that the Motorola DROID 2, according to one of our connects, has the lowest smartphone return rate on Verizon Wireless. Not only are people apparently thrilled with the device, but that pesky fluctuation issue with the antenna doesn’t seem to be a problem either, as we have also been informed that the DROID 2 has one of the lowest dropped call rates on the carrier. Who knew.

Actually anyone that cares about using a phone as a phone cares. Not only does VZW compete head to head in major cities (if anyone can’t hack that they might as well not even be in business) they also are the best in the burbs. I don’t drop calls *ever* on VZW. Can’t say the same when I was on AT&T…

My OG Droid’s screen crapped out and Big Red was kind enough to replace it with a Droid2. Wow, what a difference those few hundred MHz makes. This phone zips along.
The construction is solid, and when the keyboard is closed, it feels like it is one solid piece, where as the OGD always felt like the keyboard was there. I miss a few things about stock android, but over all the moto additions and widgets are good.
If I could just get ANDY the android back for all the people I don’t have pictures of instead of moto’s creepy white guy, I would be in heaven.

Since when do” news” sites have the weekend off?

Went from eris to d2. Couldn’t be happier. As much as everyone complains about the kybrd, I find it easy to use

I actually bought a Droid X on 8/7, and received it 8/23. 9/1 I returned it and got the Droid 2. The Associates working there asked me if I was sure I wanted to do that. I could not be happier.

    I second what brianw said.

Let me start by saying that I’m not hating on VZW, I’m happy for Moto for making solid Android devices and doing well by selling the heck out of them, but what’s VZW’s most returned phone? I mean, is this really news? Has this phone sold out? Say that then. I think it makes it sound like the “best thing ever” (and to many it may well be), but I think it’s misleading to write that it’s the “least returned” device they’ve ‘ever’ had.

I’m glad that we live in a world where wishful thinking can refute facts. Jesus, BGR reports something that is more than speculation for one, and everyone screams “That just can’t be!!!!”

I’m pretty sure he was joking… based on the real steve jobs recently refuting android’s activation numbers.

  • buzzdar

i was told the same thing about the droid 1.

  • MadSkillz

So how many Droid X, actually sold?

  • Baby Phat

I love fat clunky phones. Apparently so do all other Verizon customers.

  • Danny

Damn, BGR has the most obnoxious commenters I have seen, and they are mostly Apple/Iphone fanboys. Sad, really.

  • Jawman

That’s because you can hold it anyway you like and still make phone calls =D

  • GG

It’s not clear what time frame BGRs contact is referring to. Is it just return rates in August and September, or is it comparing return rates of phones within the first 5 weeks of their launch? If it’s the former, our proprietary point of sale data indicates the following return rates in August and September on VZ:
    Model Returns
    Droid 8%
    Droid 2 9%
    9650 Bold 10%
    hero 10%
    85xx 12%
    Incredible 14%
    Droid 14%
    9630 Tour 16%
    Ally 17%
    95xx Storm 2 18%
    Droid Eris 18%

    • GG

In the above, Droid 8% is meant to read “Droid X 8%”
