Unreleased Samsung Galaxy Tab rooted

General

The recently announced, unreleased Samsung Galaxy Tab has officially been given the root treatment. Blog sera-apps.de is reporting that they have seen, used, and possess a rooted Gally Tab (now that didn’t take long). The site does caution, “I don’t know if the final Galaxy Tab can be rooted the same way like the one I have here. This is a work in progress prototype – thinks [sic] can differ a lot.” Either way, it is an encouraging sign for Android enthusiasts who are looking forward to getting, tinkering, and h4x0ring their Galaxy Tab.

So what who cares? Hardly newsworthy.

That’s funny! Already rooted! But then again, why would you want a device like this? There’s an iPad that’s already been realesed, and is much more stable… Interesting.

Your commenting on the stability of an un-released product?
      huh?

Desi dude cant be Smart. ha Ha Ha.

I wonder if Apple will have an answer to this… this is an ipad destroyer

I just think that this tablet is priced way to high. Rooted or not thats just an insane price for a tablet. You can get a killer laptop that dosent need to be rooted or hacked or anything. Ive never been a big fan of the iPad so i was really looking at the Galaxy Tablet as an alternative. Granted its helping that its rooted but really who cares.

BTW…Dont know why they deleted my last post? Couldve been the R2-D2 Dock comment…hahaha. Sorry BGR

  • MacMan

That sucks. You need to root it to make it a good product.

Wow, I thought all android was free and open. Too bad you have to root in order to do what you want with your phone.

    • Turbocooper

IIts pretty open…most phones can just get a one click root program,

BTW… Galaxy Tab Has Smaller Screen, Similar Features to Apple’s Device; Likely Cost Is $200-$300.

I’m intrigued. What does rooting provide that you couldn’t do already? I thought Android was supposed to be ‘open’

Pretty much you can change more settings(IE processor speed)… if you know what you’re doing, that’s great. If you don’t and just root because “everyone does it” and go changing settings willy nilly and than frying the phone. Chances are, if you have to ask “what can you do if you root?”, you don’t need to be rooting. You can still download any application even if it isn’t in the marketplace, unless you’re ATT I believe in which case they block that.

      • FunkyG

Thanks for the explanation. Where do you get applications from if not from the marketplace? And are there many of them?

      • Mrwirez

        appbrain

      • FunkyG

Are there apps on app brain that aren’t in the marketplace?

If not then what’s the benefit?

  • MO7710

ok, really on the fence here. Should i get an ipad, galaxy, or wait for a google/verizon pad? Or, wait for a second version of an ipad? Really stuck on this one!!!

It’s a XXL HTC Evo.. It has MAJOR potential to knock some of the other tablets right off the market.
